Hey all,

Over the weekend, I noticed that as I accelerate, around 2000 RPM or so I hear a high-pitched, high frequency rattle, almost a jingle, just for a second. As the engine continued to speed up, it goes away. I notice it mostly in second gear.

Has anyone else heard anything similar or found a cause?

My car does this now as well. My problem is a bad baffle in my muffler which has to either be cut open or completely replaced.

 

It means that santa is coming. Do you hear prancing on your rooftop too?

 

I had a similar problem. I think it was a loose heat shield or something along the lines of that. Dealer was able to fix it right up.

 

Interesting... I hadn't considered the Santa option... I'll talk to the dealer about it...

It sounds like it's coming from the front. Could it still be the muffler or a heat shield?
