Question High Performance Tires

Does anyone have the high-performance tires offered by Acura?
I ordered them for my car to be delivered next month, and was curious if anyone has any experience with them since so many are complaining about the standard all-season tires. I still have the chance to cancel the tires if I want to since the car hasn't been built yet.

JetJock,

I've those on my 6MT and are pretty good. No vibrations or any other problems mentiond on the forum. I can hardly wait for Summer though. They'll perform better in SUmmer for the grip. However, I've not noted any problems even in the weather now.

JetJock,

I have the summer tires, Bridgestone RE 030's and think they are great. No vibrations, not real noisy (yet) and stick like glue. The only issue I am seeing, at 3500 miles, is that they are wearing fast. The edges on the front are rounding over and I am getting feathering on the outside blocks in the rear. I plan to rotate them very soon.

QUESTION FOR YOU TIRE EXPERTS?
When I rotate them should they be X rotated or just front to rear rotated? I have heard good and bad about both. The 030's are not uni-directional.

Thanks in advance.

I have the HPT tires on my 6MT and really like 'em. They seem grippy, even in the 30-40 degree winter weather I've been driving in. Quiet, too. Like joganjani said, though, I can't wait for summer.

I have them as well and they are nothing close to quiet when the temp dips into the teens. 30 and below they seem to slip a lot. Definitely no vibration and I ve had the car up to 100 with no issues

Check out the "2004 Acura TL 6MT Undercar Analysis" videos on vtec.net:

I have/do experience a slight vibration during the first 5 minutes of driving. After that the ride smoothes out nicely. I agree with the other comments about their additional grip. They inspire great confidence at any speed (wet or dry). I have not notice any exceptional road noise from them. I think they are well worth the money.

I've had my car (w/HPST) just over a week now and I don't like the noise they make in the 70 - 80 MPH area. It's like a low pitch whistle. But they handle incredibly well.

The suspension could use some work though. Hmm... time for a search and possible post.
