High Performance Summer Tires

Did anybody get the High Performance Summer Tires.

- It a $200 option available to the 6MT

is it worth it?

When do you ask the dealer to replace them, after the car arrives to the dealership ?

I wonder If after 2000 miles they would replace mine.

Sorry, too late for you.

You order them when you order the car. They are put on at the factory and not a dealer installed option. The VIN number is different than with the stock tires.

I didn't have the option to choose tires,
this TL was the only car they had at the dealership with 6 sp + NAV.

Maybe Pirellis would be better choice for me...

I picked them up and think they are nice, they corner great, suck in the cold weather though when you are first starting up because they need to warm up. You will chirp a little.

They really honk in the cold! Even under moderate acceleration my traction control indicator was flashing. I am sure that in the summer these things will be wickedly sticky.

You have not been living here long enough....

It snows about every 7 to 10 years. Sometimes it stays for a few days. Since people do not know how to drive in snow, lots of accidents!!

Hopefully you have another car to take out next time it does snow or you just stay home. (FYI, today we got a cold front in and the temp is DOWN to 61).

got 3 cars, so if in another 10 years it snows in Houston, I'll be prepared - fat chance though.

I got my share of cold weather in Syracuse, NY (and Rochester)
I learned how to do donuts in empty parking lots with my Toyota Celica Supra! and slide downhill with your wheels locked!

Have you even been -40 F (-75 F with windchill factor!)
that day in 1983 it was -25 in Alaska (a lot warmer than where we were!)

Driving in snow is fun, you just have to know not to fight momentum, and handle the car smoothly. I Never had a wreck in 10 years of Winters...

I've been here in Houston 12 years, and it has never snowed (it did a little one time but it didn't stay on the ground - melted quick).

So you have been here long enough. Guess the global warming thing is happening I have lived in Houston about 40 years and have pictures of me playing in the snow at 5. About 20 years ago it snowed about 8 to 10 inches and stayed on the ground for about a week.

I have been in -10 with windchill of -25 in Colorado. I do NOT like the cold at all. Just moved back from living in NYC for 2 years. Hated the winters there.
