hide away license plates

I know this has completely no relevance to TL's or even Acura's at all but since im a member might as well post here...

me and a buddy have argued that hideaway license plates are real and in doing so placed a small wager... anyone have any proof or any backing to my proposal? If you do please post as much as you could about what you know or what you have ever seen.

How damn hard is it to do your own googling? I guess as hard as it is to post in a relevant forum.

Are you talking about something like Knightrider? KITT had license plates that could revolve to hide it's identity. It would go from "KNIGHT" to some other anonymous California license plate. I saw someone online who has actually done this mod to a Pontiac Firebird but it's just for show because that is obviously highly illegal.

I bet whoever is betting you is talking about this.

actually if it where mounted upside down and backwards, the plate would angle forward, since the idea is to not have you plate legible

if you want to avoid like tolls and stuff I seen some spray you put on the plate and makes your illegible to the camera

ggesq.. did you forget to close it?

I remember when I had my 240SX some people wanted hide-away plates - the plate on the 240 hangs down into the air opening, the guys that were running turbos wanted a spring loaded setup so that on the freeway it would fold up into the opening and allow for maximum TURBO COOLING POWARZ!!!!!!!
