Hidden Hitch and Thule Expressway 995XT

After reading the posts, and even getting the local bike shop to attempt installation of the Sarius Bones trunk mount (damn these tight tolerances between trunk lid and body panels!), I decided to get a 1-1/4" Hidden Hitch receiver from eTrailer.com, and the Thule Expressway 995XT 4-bike carrier from RackAttack.com. While not exactly hidden, it attached easily, and I could reinstall the plastic panel removed for the installation by making a few cuts for the receiver! Took about an hour to install the hitch, 2 seconds to attach the rack, and another hour to figure how to best mount the bikes using the Thule Rack Adapters. Here are a couple or shots. (I may try to move the towing loop attachment up a little, as you can see it droops towards the rear.) Loaded up the bikes last weekend, drove to the beach without any problems. I may get a strap to attach betweeb the rear (front?) of the trunk lid and the top of the rack to lessen the up and down bobbing I saw in the rear-view mirror. Definitely if I try to use more than 2 bikes.

Anyway, delivered price was about $105 for the hitch, and $283 for the rack and 2 adapters.

Bummer, I cannot post attachments. Well, I'l post this and see what I can do if anybody wants the pics.
