So this is a newb question, so please don't rag me for asking this. Are there different types of HID bulbs? I am guessing there is, just like there are several types of standard bulbs (H4, H7, H8, etc.). The reason I ask is because I bought some HID ballasts for my motorcycle a while back and installed them. After some time I decided I didn't like them on the bike (too bright) and took them off. Now I have the HID bulbs sitting around and was thinking of swapping my factory TL bulbs with these after market ones for a different color temperature. There in lies my problem; will these aftermarket HID's fit into the factory spot on the TL? As best I can tell all HID's look the same. What differentiates them from each other? And how can I tell which style I have vs. what I need for the TL? Thanks guys!

 

HID bulbs are just like regular bulbs, million different socket sizes.
The TL uses D2S bulbs

 

Thanks Jared. After some research the HID's I have off of the bike are not D2S bulbs. Too bad...

Anyone have any recommendations on a 6000K bulb? I see the Phillips version on eBay for around $150. Anyone tried any of the other brands with success? Thanks!
