Hey guys newbie here.
Hey I just got out of a 2004 Maxima 6spd, and Bought a 04 TL for a good good deal with only 31K. I like the tl over the maxima, even though I made a dreadful change from 6spd to auto. To be honest the tl would still some the 6 spd max.
Anyways, the car is bone stock, has no mods at all.
I am in deep need of any opinions that you guys can provide, as far as intake, cold air? Then again I read on here someone blew a piston after sucking in water, is there a short ram intake or just a cold air, or what's the deal thanks.
Also will the 08 Tailights fit the 04 acura TL without any mods.
Thanks

Hey Friss, congrats on your purchase and welcome to the family. Most guys like the CAI's-many people go for AEM CAI's. I was worried about the same thing you wrote about-so I'm not doing a CAI. Most Acuraziner's will tell you to stay away from big puddles and you should be fine.

and Welcome..
btw.. if you really want to save some dough you can remove the stock airbox and fit an aftermarket filter.. poor mans SRI.. but pretty much the same thing. $300 vs $10.

Welcome to Acurazine...... There are several CAI models, AEM V2, Ingen, etc. Like was mentioned, just stay out of very deep puddles and you'll be fine with a CAI. As far as the tails, I think they will fit. Perhaps someone else can chime in to confirm.

Thanks guys, Any answer on the tails, I have seen plenty on ebay made by depo I guess, I just don't like the 04 stock taillights, did anyone replace them with the type S tail lights or the newer 08 tail lights, and was there any problems or any specific brand to order.
Thanks

haha, that would probably be me but that hasnt stopped me from using one. it was really a freak thing and hopefully it will never happen again. and the main cause was my speed at which i hit the puddle, not the actual depth of it. either way, its staying on.
depends how much you want to spend, if you want sound change over performance change, and if you live in a state that does emissions testing. i would recommend the CAI for sound and engine bling, you could also add the throttle body spacer to that for a little extra power. a crank pulley is a great way to free up some power and is probably one of the better mods that you can actually feel. and of live in a a state that doesnt test emissions, i would pick up a pair of pre-cat deletes from RV6, and then maybe an upgraded j-pipe and 3rd cat delete.
