The type-S is very maint friendly. Oil changes are track on the MID and is usually every 10k miles. Brake fluid at 3 year mark. Time belt at 105k, etc. It's a very dependable ride and has all the bells and whistles. I'd go for it. And welcome back!!

Damn that was a nice Altima with Nismo rims.

You can't go wrong with a Type-S =)

examples of what?
and your SER is more powerful than the type-s, btw.
also, the MID is the maintenance minder. it tells you when to change oil and etc.

also, you asked about the fit and finish....you simply have to go test drive the cars yourself, as everyones experience is going to be different.
i'll tell you what tho, we do have rattles galore.

on paper the TL-s looks more powerful and it will be a great race edging out to the SER.
again, why not just test drive diff. vehicles?
get the feel for them 1st hand, instead of relying on what a stranger from the internet says....

and you dont get how it rattles so much? plastic on metal contact.
this forum has documented most of the rattles and you can eliminate them by wedging in pieces of felt.
to me, its not really a big deal. but thats why I want you to go out and test drive.
My definition could be very different than yours.

Basically, they're are no problems(like the VQ oil consumption issues) if properly maintained.
which you will have a mechanic look over your car for you, to make sure you're not getting shafted.
these cars can exceed 200,000 miles, if properly maintained.

so in closing, TEST DRIVE TEST DRIVE TEST DRIVE.
if something seems off, on to the next car, as there are a lot of type-s' out there with great deals to be had.

use carfax as a tool to help you better understand the cars history.
call an acura dealer and give them the VIN, they should be able to tell you if the services have been done at acura.

have a mechanic look over the car that you want, making sure it was maintained properly and nothing looks amiss.

Also, instead of asking questions, spend maybe about aweek reading threads on this forum.
I guarantee you'll have a better understanding of the car just by reading and most of all your questions will be answered.

This is a better way of learning about things, instead of asking questions.
you're asking questions that only cover half of what the TL is.
if you read and explore you'll learn a great deal and will be ready when the time comes.

It's a hit or miss on rattles. My car has minor rattles. I drove my buddy's for a photoshoot and his was perfect.

Depends what you're looking for. A G37 is faster...

You can upgrade but it is expensive.. and custom only. Most people choose to leave the factory head unit. Like everything, there are ways around it haha

They're good. We have several SQ competitors on here that compete with the stock deck. There's a member on here, I won't say his name but he's running optical and it's integrated well, looking pretty stock.

Hey man, im also looking to get a white Tl type s, probably in the summer/fall of '11, and just like you i also have an altima (2002 3.5SE). Fast car, but way too cheaply made, it annoys me, nissan made some huge shorcuts with these cars and its clearly apparent. I also have the stupid oil consumption issues as many other vq's have. Im looking to get back into an acura, (coming from a legend) and i think a white type-s would suit me well! =]!

If there is any rattles, most of them can be easily solved.

Nothing really major with the Type-S.

As long as you check AZ from time to time and read the threads you should have almost 0 problems. 3rd/4th gear solenoid + Redline Racing ATF + 5W30 instead of 5W20 etc...
