Smile Hey all & getting a TL this weekend

Hey all, totally new here but I've read a lot of threads already. I test drove a few cars last Saturday and now I'm set on a 08 cbp TL. I'm picking up one this weekend (DFW TX). What should I know before getting it? Thanks!!!

Congrats man, you will love it. Well I'm sure you learned everything about it before making your decision.

Hey ze2o...i just purchased my 08 NBP about 1 month ago...so many features and things to learn about the car. Just enjoy the ride and take your time learning the car,as i am still learning. You'll definitely get the itch in buying things for your new baby. Welcom to AZine!!!

I also have an 08 WDP TL-S. No issues as of yet. She's purrrrring like a kitten. Congrats on your decision and welcome to AZ

I've heard a few people talk about the rear wolfer rattling.

Take it for a thorough test drive BEFORE you sign papers.
Safe travels.....

I'm sure I will be messing with every button in that car

Since I don't like loud music so wolfer rattling shoun't be a problem, but thanks for the heads up

O yeah I will be going over the car THOROUGHLY before touching that pen

Probably Vandergriff Acura but there are few more places I need to go check out ... TL would be the base model; it's plenty quick for me and I don't need navi. DO you know a "good dealer" to go to?

Thanks guys ...

I got mine from Goodson Acura. You might want to check them out because they sell a lot more TLs by volume and might be able to give you a better deal. But you never know... Vandergriff or MacChurchill or McDavid Acura still might have better deals But you will loveeeee the car.

And it looks like he is going for a base '08 - non nav. I had no use for the NAV either. Yes, it looks cool but if you have no use for it why spend an extra $2-3k on it? - IMO.

I'd recommend McDavid in Austin and Goodson Acura in Irving. I ended up buying from McDavid, but I liked the people and selection better at Goodson. It just wasn't worth the drive to buy from Goodson for me.

Yes true lot of the stuff wrong with the TL was fixed by 07 I think. Oh ya, one thing.. the dash board. It tends to fade real easily... and you can see the airbag print on it... very obvious. No worries... buy 303 Aerospace Protectant. Spray on while dry. You can do multiple coats for shininess. It will get rid of that imprint and make your dash look super shiny and nice!

I just purchased an '08 WDP w/Nav at Vandergriff Acura. I've purchased 5 new cars from this dealership and used their service department for all of my needs. I've tried using other dealerships for normal maintenance (because I moved) but they just don't compare. I highly recommend this dealership.

Give Donnie Kelley a call at Vandergriff Acura. He's their fleet manager and can give you the best price OTD.

You should be able to do way better than $31k, I paid that for an '08 NBP Navi over a month ago. There are an additional $1,000 in factory incentives since then and in this economy I would be looking for no more than $28k for a base non-navi before taxes.

I went to Goodson but man it was rough, I can't even test drive the car well due to the crappy roads since I was looking for road shift and dry puddles the entire trip lol and the salesman told me 30500 take it or leave. I was like

I'm going to Mac Churchill and David McDavid Saturday morning to try my luck there... but so I like Vandergriff better than Goodson

Donnie Kelley, I'll swing by and say hi. thanks badconexun

hey P1zzaman, yeah I read about the dashboard fading as well but I think I'm ready (car tent, windshield shade, all kinds of wipes/sprays... etc)

hey vinnier6 I will keep my 3rd eye open at david mcdavid thanks!

ggesq & csmeance, either you want pay for my navi ? but seriously I know my way around VERY WELL so why ditching the 2-3 g just for looks. my thought

My goal is $28,000 OTD 08 base CBP, wish me luck

Hey folks, what's the difference between the gray leather and black leather beside color? They are the only two leather style for the TL right? I like the gray one, parchment? a lot better than the black

How much better exactly is the Type-S ? I'm not digging the wheels/interior lights/seat color too much.

There is no difference between the 07 and 08 model right? I can't tell from pictures

I'm trying to learn as much as I can before Saturday.. Thanks !

bump for my old questions and I got one more:

does the acura factory warranty apply to all its vehicles sold regardless the place of purchase? (Gen 3 TLs)

does factory warranty apply to only "certified preowned vehicles"? (Gen 3 TLs)

thanks !!!
