If you do not mind, please tell me what lease deals you got when you got your 04 TL or 04 TL w/ Navi. Looking for 15K per year. I need to get a better sence of what everybody else is paying and I'm affraid I might not have gotten such a great deal when I leased the 02 TLS w/nav. So 3 years later I'm looking to get better informed and empowered during the dealer negotiations. Please help me so that I can enjoy the new one as much as you guys are.
I live in Los Angeles, CA and will be turning in my 02 TL Type S w/ Nav with about 30k for a new one. I'm either looking to get a TL or a TSX if I can't reach my goal. Thanks in advance.

The best price I have seen on this forum for lease is from JimmieGreek. Try to search for him on this forum if he doesn't reply to this thread on his own in the next day or so. You can also do a search looking up best price in LA. He is in Torrance. He doesn't work for a dealer, he is an independent I understand.
I can help you if he can't. My dealer guys were great for me, but I bought and have no idea how they will do for a lease.

I just searched for Jimmygreek and found his user id. I sent him a pm to search for this thread and reply to you. I am sure he will as he has been promoting the deal all over the Forum. Good luck. Again I would be glad to help you if you need it. I am in the South Bay as well as Jim is.

When I got the lease on my 02 TLS w/nav in May of 2001, out of pocket was 2200, which included first month payment, total taxes, and $500 cap cost reduction. The monthly is 467 per month. I though it was a good deal. I know that the 04 TL is a bit more expensive, but considering that I am turning in this car do you think that I could possibly get the same deal or lower monthly? What did every body else get?

No. Teh residuals have drastiaclly changed since the 02 and 03 models on all vehicles. The residual on my '03 TL-S is 59% for 36 months, opposed to the current 53% for 36 months, which means youwill be paying for more of the depreciation of the vehicle.

Couple questions - Is there a formula that American Honda Finance uses to determine the amount of penalty for early lease turn in? If so, what is it?
Reason I ask is that I have a 03TLSNav. Got rear ended last fall and finally settling up the Diminished Value claim with insurance company. I'm getting $4k check. Would like to turn in the 03 and get into an 04 if I can for the same lease price (36 mo @ $396/mo). I'm thinking that I may be able to get close on the payment w/ the $4k down - but not sure how much the early turn in penalty is. Would want 04TLNavi Auto. Hopefully someone knows how they figure this early turn-in amount.

Spoke to AmHonda Finance today, confirmed that early termination of lease does require you to pay the remaining payments.
However, since the car was repaired after the wreck and Acura did the work, I was told that I won't get hit at the end of the lease with a penalty just because it was wrecked. The $4k diminished value check I'm collecting from the insurance company is then applied as payments on the lease. So, I won't have to make any payments for the next 10 months!
I would have never known about filing a diminished value claim had my insurance company not told me to do so. If any of you ever get hit by somebody, make sure you go after a Diminished Value claim. I had a company out of Bath, OH called "Vehicle Information Services" prepare the report. Did a good job.
