Help removing taillights!
I tried to change my taillights. Ran into some problems. The bumper does not want to pull down. I took the three screws from the wheel fender wall and popped two clips from under the bumper.
I got it somewhat off but the bolts behind the bumper were not really visible and when I pushed a bit more the bumper felt like it would break.
Does anyone know what else I have to remove to get the bumper halfway down?

I watched the video again. There are 2 screws that you can barely see! I will try them this upcoming weekend. Never attempt to install new taillights 1 hour before thanksgiving dinner. Another quick question I have is....those clips. I lost one. Are those important at all? I mean they are annoying to remove. Pretty much broke my hand trying to remove them.
I do not have mudflaps. I removed three screws in the wheel well, then removed the 10MM bolt thats under the cover. I removed two clips from under the bumper (left side). Still it was catching onto something.
ALSO. I removed the turn signal easily. The other part of the taillight that is connected (the main power wire). What is the best way to remove that. I tried twisting it...did not come off. Do I just pull it off? I do not want to damage anything lol.

Mudflap screws? Which clips? When u do finally change them,I wouldn't. Put back in the bolts hiding under the bumper because they are not necessary. and I'm glad I didn't because I had to remove them again to change them out...good luck

I have 3 screws in the wheel fender line. I do not have mud flaps. I guess these screws just hold the bumper?
How do you remove the power connector that connects to the lights? Is it pull or do you twist or what?
In the DIY video he just removed the clips from under the bumper. No bolts. Then he removes the screws. https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/diy-video-removing-your-rear-bumper-3g-garage-e-095-a-619706/

There are bolts that hold the tails down securely, that's the whole reason u have to remove bumper down,is to access the bolts..otherwise u would just peel the liner back in the trunk and unscrew the four 8mm nuts to remove tails. But they won't budge until the bolt on each side is removed.. doesn't matter abt aspec kit.... power connector pulls out

Aren't you in Yonkers? Ima PM you my number. Hit me up if you need help.
But to answer your questions, the only 2 bolts you need to remove for the bumper are near the trunks edge. then do one taillight at a time. there are some screws near the wheel that need removal. The bolt on the picture is from aspec lip and doesn't need removal.

Got it done. I would like to thank InFaMouSLink, Nate_0022, and Italiano. Took me and a buddy about 45 min for both lights. Once I knew I was not going to break the bumper I just pulled it down and was able to access the bolts.
Some problems I ran into. My right taillight did not have a seal around the LED board so I put the depo on without the seal around LED board for the right light. I used the gaskets that came with the depos. For the right side I forgot to install that bracket that had the 2 10MM bolts. I installed the 2 10 MM bolts but forgot to put the bracket in. For the left side the plug that powers the LED board I just let it hang loose rather then inserting it back in its socket. The driver side taillight has a small gap. It does not "fit flush". I don't mind or care and you wont even notice unless I point it out.
The LED board swapping was very easy. Removing the LED board from those clips is harder then swapping the boards LOL.
Now I can do this job in 30-40 mins alone no problem. It was fun. I have "orange" blinkers but plan on getting amber LEDS.

Orange, all u had to do was transfer little gaskets from oem led board to ur depos...can't believe ur depots came with gaskets mine didn't. Remember me recommending not to put back those 10mm bolts? If u have to change out for any reason u will have to remove bumper again,lol.... ur welcome for everything post more pics from alittle further back with both tails... looks good man

Italiano is right. I used the VHT tint on my stockers, but left off said bracket. I recently bought new taillights, and it took just 30 minutes to remove the tails, transfer led boards, and reinstall. The bracket seems like an overkill.

FYI...A slight gap between the quarter panel and tail light housing edge is needed. It shouldn't be touching the paint. If the tail light edge touches the paint, over time it will rub away the paint on the quarter panel edge, and expose the primer undercoat or even worse the metal.
Not sure, but it looks like there is paint that's rubbed away on one of the pics.
