Help needed with bumper gouges
Help needed with bumper gouges
Hey guys,
My lovely wife neglected to pull our TL into the garage far enough and then lowered the garage door! There are two nice gouges from where bolts cut through the paint (down to the plastic for part of the way). Has anyone ever attempted to fix something like this using touch up paint and some kind of filler? I am totally bummed, but I'm pretty good with a paintbrush or airbrush. I could probably upload a picture tomorrow if that would help.
What concerns me is that the underlying plastic is black. I'm not sure how to deal with that background under the touchup paint.
BTW... My car is Redondo Red. Thanks for any help you can give.

I had a similar issue covered in this thread. The consensus seemed to be getting the bumper repainted. I plan to do this in the spring.

Is it possible to get some pics about those gouges? If it's not serious, perhaps shops can find some better way to make up instead of re-paint.
Do they sell any bumper stickers that say:
"The wife doesn't get to pilot the TL anymore."
???
Find one and cover up the damage until repaint (just kidding).
Chose the 6MT for multiple reasons--the wife was one....

I guess you took the wife out and shot her:bigun2: I'm so infatuated with my car my wife refuses to drive it
Back to your question, repaint. My advice is, if not too serious you'll get used to them.
