Help me get the Nav Code
Help me get the Nav Code
I got the car ('07 TL-S with Nav) back from the mechanic for a timing belt job. The navi screen is asking for the code. I have the Radio code, but that's 5 digits; the screen is asking for a 4-digit code. After searching around this site, I realize that it's asking for the Nav Code. I went to the radio-code.acura.com site to try and get the code, but even with that box checked (for getting two independent codes), I only get the same 5 digit radio code. I have the VIN and the serial number. I had reset the unit before (battery change), and only had to enter the 5-digit radio code, not the 4-digit one. I have no idea why it's asking me for the Nav code this time. Where can I get it? Like I said, that acura site is only spitting out the same 5-digit one. And no, no part of the 5-digit code would satisfy the screen now. Help!
OK, I've figured it out. I'm writing this in case someone else might be facing the same challenge. Get to the car's diagnostic screen by pressing and holding the Map/Guide, Menu and Cancel button at the same time. Navigate around the menu using the touch screen or the directional joystick. Find the Navigation system's serial number in there. It's pretty easy. Mine starts with "GMB". Plug that serial number into the serial number field on this page https://radio-navicode.acura.com/, along with your VIN and everything. It will spit out the Nav code. In my case, I got 2 different codes out of that. I chose to use the one with a 4-digit number and a letter. Just use the 4-digit number portion.
