HELP....Anyone using Mobil 1 synthetic on there '07 TL Type S???
So i got the Mobile 1 synthetic oil change in the end of January at the dealer instead of their dealer brand. It's suppose to be better performance and better for the car. Also it would mean i change the oil less frequently. Now my question is for how many miles would it be OK to run it before the next oil change? At the dealer they had said since this oil last longer i could let the oil % go down to about 10% then reset it and once it gets back to 10% its time to get the oil change. Is this correct i don't want to ruin my ride.... Or would it be best that when it measures 10% the first time change it then.

Drifting
I normally go 5000 mile change interval on synthetic oil. i dont think the oil life % on our cars works well. cuz ive driven 5000 miles and it still says 60%

oil is motherfucking oil is motherfucking oil.
change it when the MID calls to change it.
Zach, the MID is VERY accurate; taking in account for engine revs, start ups, and other conditions.
so, if you do lots of highway driving it'll take LONGER for the MID to reach zero than if you were to drive city with lots of stop and go hitting VTEC daily.....
YOu two fellas DO know that there is an OIL thread right underneath this one?????? that explains everything with some mother fucking scientist giving their motherfucking opinion?

I always use M1 in my vehicles and still never go longer than the manufacturers recommendations. With my Type S's I have always usually done the oil changes when oil life monitor gets to 10% to 20% remaining.

I actually need my first oil change for my type S that has 50k Miles. I asked the dealer what oil they used before and they said they don't have any records... Do you guys think I should go with synthetic or regular, cuz I heard its bad if you change in between...? Also how many quartz do I need?

Open quart, pour quart.
Open second quart, pour second quart.
Open third quart, pour third quart.
Open fourth quart, pour fourth quart.
Open fifth quart, pour half of fifth quart.
Rocket science hurts my brain.

Also not sure the last time I used oil that didn't have incremental measuring markers on the bottle itself...

I think the correct response here is:
YES. EVERYONE AND THEIR MOTHER USES MOBIL 1 SYNTHETIC.
Nonetheless I will humor you; I use Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5w-20 in both of my TL's and I haven't had any issues changing the oil between 6-7k miles. The EP brand claims its good for 15k miles though and I couple it with a M1-110 or M1-104 Oil filter as well.

I wait until the oil pressure light comes on or the engine siezes up, whichever comes first.
