Pull 07 TYPE S motor, trans and ECU from the junkyard. Rebuilt the bottom end, New bearings, gaskets, rings, etc. Having block machined 50 over. Everything torqued perfectly. Motor was timed correctly according to all three marks on all three pulleys. Valve lash adjusted to spec. New ECU for type S won't get any sort of combustion. Base ECU Will get a few cylinders to fire.

Is this an ECU problem? Crank position sensor? I'm at my witsend and any help would greatly be appreciated

 

1. Can you communicate with the PCM?
2. Any codes?
3. Did you reprogram the immobilizer?

 

I Was finally able to get it started. Had to put a teaspoon of oil in the cylinders to seal any blow by on the piston rings. After that 5 of 6 cylinders were firing. I pulled the plug on each of the coil packs until I found the cylinder not firing. #5 wasn't hitting, so I swapped the plug and the coil pack, just in case. All 6 were firing. I called a mobile locksmith who programmed the type s ECU to accept the base model key. Now she purrs like a kitten and pulls hard too. I'll baby it for a week, swap the oil and filter and then on to gutting the cats, j pipe and full exhaust. ECU swap and tune after. Then ...I MIGHT be happy. Maybe...
