Hey guys, name is Tye. New to the Acura community. Just bought a WDP 08 Type S 5AT. Sold my 450whp 2006 GTO to buy it. So its a touch slow for me haha, but in all seriousness it is a very nice car and I like it. The GTO was waaaayyy to loud and I'm not getting any younger so it was time for a change. I have always had a thing for the way these look and I'm happy with finally having one.

Congrats on the purchase! Im sure the GTO was fun, but everytime I see one now they are all modded and sound like monster trucks goin down the road. For me that kind of takes away all the appeal of the car. Im sure the TL is gonna feel pretty weak to you for a while, but I think you will come to enjoy that its an all around nice car. Looks great, super reliable, decent on gas, and kind of sporty. Enjoy!

Thanks guys. The GTO sounded great but when your neighbors come over and tell you your car is too loud and call the police when you come home at 1am, it starts to get annoyinng. It was fun, but putting a clutch every 10k, tires, brakes, etc...it starts to get old so I wanted something reliable but still fun. I think I have found that.

 

my friend has a 6.0 GTO in silver and I cant get over how ugly it looks.
I wish he got the G8 GXP instead!

Well I don't think it was ugly but it doesn't quite have the appeal a type-s has, thats for sure.

I bought my TL-S off someone who went and bought a GTO recently. They bought theirs in FL.

 

I will try to get some pics up soon. The car is filthy and its snowing in this demonic state of WI right now. Its going in for tint today so maybe after that I will get some pics.

Haha, fair enough. The word to describe the GTO I think could be plain. Definitely doesn't stand out. It was fast though.

It looks like your car has been modified before! It has the A-Spec rear lip, yellow fogs, and the lettered Acura emblem has been removed from the trunk.

I was unaware of the mods on the car haha. I knew the yellow fog lights weren't factory but I like the look of them. I just google imaged a stock rear bumper and glad it has the A spec one, looks much better. Well you guys just made my day lol. I'm actually from WI, just drove to Golden Valley MN to get the car.

 

I already got the windows tinted. Debating whether or not I want to wrap the roof and the grill in carbon fiber or black. May lower it at some time, but that will be it for appearance mods I think.

 

I'm lovin' that color on the GTO!

And of course, can't go wrong with WDP

Welcome, I had a TBSS with the 6.0 and loved that engine. Looked at a G8, but decided to save some money for house mods instead. I think youll enjoy the TL!

Congrats! Definitely pick up the side and front a spec kit! It will look so much more aggressive. Also if you think the car is lacking on power, heeltoe has a damn good promo on for super chargers.

 

Don't forget to lower that bad boy and finish off the Aspec kit
