Hey everyone, thought I'd post and share my new TL-S. Back story, I received my first TL (WDP w/ Navi) from my parents back in 2008. I ended up trading in that for a NBP TL-S also courtesy of my parents in 2010. Unfortunately 8 months later the car ended up being totalled and I moved on to a E92 335i. I missed the TL-S so much that I bought myself another WDP TL-S in 2013. From then till now, there's no other vehicle that captured my interested quite like the TL-S has. I feel like its timeless in its design inside and out, and I just feel like the car is a part of my identity at this point lol.
Still have my WDP TL-S to this day but I'm not going to lie, I didn't take car of the to the best of my ability. I've always kept an eye out for a pristine low mileage TL-S just for nostalgia's sake, and after quite a long hunt, I ended up purchasing an ASM TL-S just yesterday. The car is a one-owner w/ 46,000 miles (74,000 KM) which. I made the 7 hour trek out of province (equivalent to a state in the US), bought the car for $10K USD ($13K CAD) on the spot and brought it back home.
If you could believe it, the original owner is now an 84 year old woman who purchased the car back in 2006 and drove it 5000km / 3000 mi every year for the last 15 years. No accidents, clean carfax, all maintenance records, and she even had the demo DVD-Audio CD the car came w/ back in the day. Aside from the driver side rear side marker being out, the side mirror finish being brown due to the mirror heater being left on, and a couple of interior bulbs being burnt out, the car is absolutely in pristine condition and drives TIGHT like it just rolled off the assembly line. Very exhausted from this weekend so please excuse the less than stellar pic I have uploaded which was sent to me before purchasing the car. I promise I will upload a few pics when I get some time this week. All thats left to do is purchase a similar condition KBP TL-S, and I will have owned the TL-S in every colour that was available for the Canadian market.
I plan on selling my other WDP TL-S to make room for this new TL and to cover some of the cost I paid. As for this new TL-S, I won't be driving it, will probably get a full detail and keep it parked. May drive it next summer but just on the weekends and put it away for the rest of the year going forward. I honestly just bought the car just to stare at and reminiscence on. Hard to believe I was first in a TL when I was 17 and now I'm going on 32 and just bought my 4th one. Life moves way too fast and I love this car way too much!
Nice find! Seems like a minty TL went to the right person. Port more pics when you get a chance
Thank you! I will post more pics when I get the chance.

Thank you, and I agree; in my eyes THE greatest all-round car ever made. Glad to see you're still on here, I remember seeing your posts even before joining the forum. Always loved your WDP and if I recall correctly you were one of the first WDP owners to wrap their roof gloss black.

And how bout them Maple Leafs! Too soon?
Thank you! Lol and nobody in Toronto is surprised!
This place is still the go to for the 3G. I tried social media and it seems te people in the know arnt wasting thier time teaching someone who "slid into thier DMs'. Almost everyone on thier doesnt havea clue how the TL works, or any car for that matter. Some people think they know(myself included), but its like the blind leading the blind there.
This is why im still here. This place is a living Service Manual. Still the best place for Acura help besides a mechanic.
You guys remember when we had the TL Garage? Where you had a "How-to" on just about everything?
Thank you! I will post more pics when I get the chance.

WOW! great memory. I was probably one of the 1st (if not the 1st) to vinyl wrap my roof black. Seems like a lifetime ago! Not many of us OG's left. Those were some of the best times here on this forum.

I hear this ^
I've been a "member" of a 3rd gen facebook page for I'd roughly guess maybe 2-3 years. I recognize some names from here also on there. My goodness my immediate reaction when i think of that grouping on FB is...cesspool It's just toxic, every "mod" is scrutinized, every other post is what timing belt package should I get; or a tighten fuel cap light. Oh and the blinking D light or HFL drain questions. This is certainly hands down the go to for us owners...

What are your guy's sentiments on the price I paid for a near 16 year old vehicle w/ 46K mi on the dash. Is $10k USD reasonable for it being in pristine shape? Auto trans btw.
Auto tran or not, 46k miles is amazing. Even if the seals leak a tad from lack of use(or running the engine every once in a while) It is a fantastic find. I wish I had a TL with so few miles, just to flex. 10k USD is a great price! I paid 10.8k(not including taxes ect) for my 92k miles one owner all service done at Acura 6MT Type-S, and that was in 2019, before the used car craze began.
Send us a pic of the 46k miles! im gonna frame it in my bathroom.
The amount of people still interested in the 3G TL up here in the north is getting slimmer and slimmer... almost all of these cars up here are rusted out.
Congrats on the new ride and well worth the price you paid!

Lol! I haven't driven the car for a few days now, but next time I hop in it; I'll get a pic!

Congrats and enjoy!
Interior is perfect aside from a few burnt out bulbs around the navi / seat heater. Thank you!

You'd be surprised but a lot of the younger generation still covet the TL-S. You're right though, finding a good example is painstakingly difficult these days. Thank you, and good to see you still on here!
Lol camera trick; what I wish was also a camera trick is the colour mismatch between the bumper and the body. Its more apparent on the ASM than on my WDP.
I only noticed it when you pointed it out! Ya, both the ASM and SSM have noticeable differenced in the bumper, particularly the rear one. I believe its due to the difference between plastic and metal? You would think they would account folr this difference by using a seperate paint color, but then it would get more confusing for customers, auto shops and insurence companies. Buying two seperate pints for the bumper and trunk could add to the cost due to painters prep/setup time.

the bumper color is more noticeable in the first pic you have in this thread. Overall, very clean, and very nice find! Enjoy it!
Congrats on the pickup! Was this from a dealer in St-Hyacinthe (near Montreal)? Pretty sure I saw an ad on Autotrader last week for this very same car. My friend was looking for one, and I told him not to sleep on this one. Sure enough, he slept lol.
The story of your pickup sounds similar to mine - 8 years ago I found a 1-owner low-mileage WDP TL-S from an Acura dealership in Toronto. Flew from Montreal to Toronto, signed the paperwork and drove it back 7 hours to Montreal (I was pretty exhausted too lol).

Thank you!! Lmao yeah this car is exactly the exactly the one you just described. I'm surprised the car managed to even sit for a week to be honest. It was hard enough dealing through the language barrier w/ the person, but going to MTL the same day and back via car was enduring to say the least.

Amazing to see these under 90k examples popping up. So is that 40k mile TL-S is 25k, what would they ask if it was 6MT? MSRP? If all conditions stayed static, what would be the price of it when it reaches 25+ years?
