It's definitely one bulb for the low and high beam.
It's near impossible to tell how long a bulb will last as there are entirely too many variables.

the yellow parkin driver light and driver headlight went out at same time. headlamp started dimmin then would not come on after turning on and off several times. this seems its electrical. but where should I start looking? fuses?grounds?
BTW - If you are looking for OEM replacement go with Osram Xenarc CBI D2S 66240. They are pricey buy worth every penny.
FYI:
Your high beams are your low beams - what I mean by that is that there is a metal piece that moves when you hit the high beams allowing more light going through the projector

they say its the module which they cant fix. I dunno if I want to take it to stealership. any suggestions? kocyk123 - I read on here somewhere that d2S had to be cut or shaved or something in order to fit. that I should get d2r or d2c. if its the light bulb.

D2R is for reflector housings.
You will want D2S bulbs.
well why do people/theads on here say d2s needs cutting and shaving to fit? and what about d2c? and what should I do to get module checked? take it to stealership? would acura maybe have a tsb for the modules?
Well, there is no need to cut anthing... It is the first time I ever hear of it. The bulb you are looking for is D2S and you don't need any modifications. I recently replaced mine with Osram Xenarc CBI D2S 66240 and maaaan so much light on the road. I wish I could have done the comparison pictures to show how much brighter these bulbs are than the regular Osram.
Speaking of the module, I would double check the bulbs and make sure it is the bulb giving you a hard time. I had that issue in my Audi and it turned out to be bulb.. Good luck

You definitely don't need to cut anything off of a D2S bulb. If you've heard you had to, I'm pretty sure that person didn't order D2S or possibly bought a crappy aftermarket bulb. Here is a picture of the differences between the bulb bases.
ok well first diagnosis said it was electrical. both parkin light(yellow) and headlight went out at same time on same side. they both flickered off and on for about a day till they both went out.. is that just coincidence?
no ur nto answering the question. first I see all over this site that d2s has to be cut and shaved. that's not my fault,. that contradicts what u say here, but I believe u. so what about d2r and d2c? do they work too? and what about this ->ok well first diagnosis said it was electrical. both parkin light(yellow) and headlight went out at same time on same side. they both flickered off and on for about a day till they both went out.. is that just coincidence?
^no, man.
D2S is the only bulb that fits in the projector, or the main head lights. repeat it with me, DEEE TWO ESS!
I suggest swapping the good side to the bad side to check to see if it was coincidence or bad electrical.

please post a link to "said" threads that claim d2r / d2c are the bulbs you want.
Because I and hundreds, if not thousands, of other members that replaced their headlight bulbs all used D2S bulbs.

i know which bulbs are out. i said yellow and headlight on same side. im not goin to do search and read all the confusing stuff iv already read. that's too much man. will d2r and d2c work also? or only d2s?
if i can do it that way, then how do i get them out of the housing? i can see the back of the housing through the hood. but there is no way to get inside looks like. unless i take whole caseing out and take off back housing .which requires removing front bumper. ill take a look at inside fender when i get a chance.

I would really suggest checking your grounds on the bad side to make sure you are chasing the proper issue. I am not familiar with the wiring on the TL to know if the grounding points for the parking lights and headlights are shared or not, but it is a tad odd/interesting that all lights on one side are out. Is your fog out on that side as well?
Just give up on the d2r and d2c questions. Plenty of people who have recently replaced their bulbs are stating the d2s is what you want. The bases are a tad different (notches) as well as probably some differences in the bulb designs to handle different housings. Using the incorrect bulb can possibly end up with light being thrown in places it wasn't intended to and cause glare or be blinding to oncoming traffic.

Here you go boss:

It was fairly easy.
Here is an example of D2R type of bulb:

It has this black thing around to get better light cutoff on no-projector headlamp.

I agree with Jackass.
Jdaddyac, sounds like you've been in the 2G TL section. Just to clear some things up for ya. All acuras from year 2004-2014 (except the new 2014 3G MDX and 3G RLX) use D2S bulbs [projector beam headlights]. HID equipped Acuras before 2004 use D2R bulbs [reflector based headlights]. Same deal with early to mid 2000s Nissans/Infinitis like the 2001-03 Infiniti QX4, or 2000-06 Altima and even Maximas of within the same timefrime.
I remember a few years ago, that people would notch out the base of a bulb to make it fit in their bulb socket. I was really young then, but if I remember correctly it's because certain people wanted certain types of bulbs ( a better variety of they had reflector-based housing and wanted to make a D2S bulb or D2C bulb fit). These were the years when those aftermarket plug-n-play kits were popular too. I even had a kit in my Mazda back in 09 I think.
D2R bulbs like the one pictured above have something (metallic strip?) on top of the bulb to keep the light out of oncoming drivers. As for D2S bulbs, there's no strip on the bulb and inside the projector the light is focused, instead of scattered around the headlight. D2S is a very popular size and you can find plenty of bulbs. I'd go with Philips or Osram since they're OEM. So no modification. Just buy the right-sized bulb, and call it a day. Also check your wiring.

thanks a lot. i have been lookin at 3rd gen threads only . ok so maybe ill try the goin in the fender deal. when i get the car back, goodyear has had it for 4 days now, and cant give me an answer on chirping noise and i had the whole pully kit replaced 2 years ago and the chirrping is coming from the inner bolt on the biggest wheel/pully. so when they get finished takin their sweet ass time dickin around, ill test the lights. i have read on here that there is a ground on the pass side for the lights. ill check and tighten that too.
