you are going to need to take those screws labled "c" out. you are going to face the ambers that are in the headlight, remove part "e" and the screws should be right behind part "e"

it looks like those 2 are behind the resonator box. it appears as though the ballast is connected to the bottom of the headlight and thats connected to the frame of the car by the 2 screws behind the resonator box.

any easy way to get to them?

i think the design may have changed between the base TL and the type-s and thats the discrepancy in the instructions. i would rather not have to drill out the rivets in the resonator box, but i cant seem to find an easy way to get to those screws

i definitely thought a HID bulb change would be easier than this..

yes, the ballest is connected to the bottom of the headlight. there should be a plug that you can pull off from the ballest. are you trying to change the HID Bulbs? I dont have an 08 but i remember cause a friend of mine has a Base 08 WDP TL and i helped take off the headlights to clear them...

oh btw, on the passenger side headlight, you are going to have to unscrew the top bolts that are holding the window washer fluid to get behind there to remove the "c" screws in the diagram.

yeah i saw that...i havent attempted it yet. i keep going back and forth between sides because im getting stuck. i initially tried to do the HID replacement without bumper removal, but i couldnt get the torx screws back in so im like alright let me take off the bumper. so then i went the bumper method and got stuck - mind you im doing this outside with just a flashlight and outdoor lighting which is not great. in any case after 5 hours of nonsense with the car i have given up for tonight, hopefully when i wake up tomorrow someone has given me some insight on how to do this much more easily and i can bang out the replacement in a max of 2 hours.

thanks for your help so far

I just swapped lights last week and the two bolts that holds the bracket to the ballast will need to be removed. The passenger side you will need to unbolt a couple of bolts to move the window washer container to aside and then you will have clearance to remove those two bolts. And on the drivers side if you have CAI then it will be easy to remove, but if you have the stock intake you will have to unbolt this thing that is conected to the intake and push it enough to have access to the bolts. Acurazine is like a manual, i ask the same question last week and i get answers within minutes. This is credit to some AZ members that helped me!!

A side note you already remove the screws that holds the plastic part next to the amber part off, but you will have to also remove the metal bracket that holds the bottum of the headlamp. 3 bolts if i remember correctly!! Good luck
