HeadLight / LowBeam D2S Replacement
Does any one have pictures showing how to replace the stock HIDs? I got new bulbs it does seems to be an eazy install. The 3G garage post has good descrition explaining how to do it but photobucket account has been disabeled so the pictures no longer work. So if you have came accross anything on the interwebz please post an answer.

pop the front bumper cover off,,plastic clips under and a bolt at each end
remove entire headlight housing assembly
remove rear covers and access bulb latch arm- open- remove bulb
Make sure new bulb goes in exactly the same position-
wear rubber/latex gloves- dont touch bulbs~~

i think the hardest thing was removing the headlights from the front. but once those are out they are easy to install. REMEMBER DON'T TOUCH THE BULBS and remember to where gloves to protect your hands from cuts.

Do you really have to remove the headlight assembly to replace the bulbs? I thought you can access the bulbs from behind, but only needed to remove the bumper skin to actually remove the headlight assembly?

Yeah it's possible to go through the fender lining, just remove your wheel. It's harder to do from the driver side also. It's more of feel kind of thing.

after you see whats involved in working blind to reach the retainer system- its way easier to pull the bumper cover and housings...a few bolts and its working on the bench,, instead of calling the chiro
the rubber/latex gloves are to protect the bulb from YOU!
Oils in human fingers (always there) get on the bulb- bulb heats up and gets a hot spot there, loss of bulb life will follow
If you accidentally touch any HID or similar bulb- clean the glass with rubbing alchohol on a paper towel -while wearing gloves~

hey madenz, hope replacing those bulbs don't give you too much trouble and also, what kind of bulbs did you end up buying? i want to replace my bulbs with 5k or 6k ones. but i'm not sure if i have to add other stuff to it so they don't burn out or something.

the stock color was 4300K
many go with Kaixen brand (Excelerate carries them) 5000k color rating
more blue than stock but very useable light on the ground
6000 more blue-less white, harder to see road in front of the car with, but does light up lane markings and signs very well
direct plug and play, no power differance,, just the color rating changes

Thanks for the advice "Remove the Bumper"
Unless you can work blindfolded with small delicate stuff, try to do it trough the fender line. It took me 30 to 45 Minutes to remove the bumper, remove the headlight assebly, replace the bulbs and put the bumper back on.
That's the tiny screw that you have to remove
Before (Stock)
After (10000k)
I'll upload more pictures of the install incase any one needs it

good job- anyone who has removed the parts thru the hood or fender should prefer this method
Hope you cleaned the CAI filter while you were there
New bulbs need 50-100 hours of use to bed in and get their final color and brightness
Drive with them ON all the time to get some hours racked up
