Headlight Clearing service anymore?

I was wondering if there were any active vendors doing the headlight clearing mods still? I tried to PM the old guy via his website, but no response thus far.

Basically, i'm too chicken to do the headlight mod myself, would rather have someone who acutally knows what they're doing to do the process.

and since we're all talking about the headlight mods...
if i want to get it done just clearing out the amber pieces; for the blinkers i should look into the 7443 silver bulbs right?
and then pm probably josh for the brighter hid replacement
and then Nokya or some other 9006 bulb for the fog/daytime running light replacement?

I'll talk to Ron and may be we can do a group buy. I use to be a vendor at AZ but due to new job I had to give up the hobby/business.

Will not be offering the trade in program, if someone wants to get their headlights done they'd have to send it in.

I will update the thread once I hear from Ron.

the demand is there. i would sign up and be a vendor for this, if it wasnt so TIME CONSUMING.

JnC, i know why you stopped doing it. its alot of work and eats up hours to do a good set. I am lucky if i can do one set a month in between my regular job and night school...

Yup, it is time consuming indeed.

I am still trying to get a hold of Robb (astro) to run the idea by him first.

I do have a set of cleared 04 TL headlights so I think one at a time I can still do the trade in program. My headlights would go out to you, you can swap them with yours and send yours back to me, this way your car wont be off of the road for days but only a few hours .

I have three sets of ZKW lenses so 3 ZKW swaps would be up for grabs as well.

Looking at the interest that this thread has created I think an initial list of 5 members would do rather than 10. I'll go down the list with each member and we'll do a trade in program.

Hopefully something pans out for you JnC.

He cleared my headlights last week w/ ZKW swap and it turned out great. It's one of those mods that I would have done a long time ago if I had known it was going to turn out this nice.

If he's only got 3 sets of lenses - I'd be quick to get a set.

(Off subject a little, but can you recommend a good LED or bulb for the front turn signals now that my lights are cleared? Seem to be having problems finding anything local, so I will have to order)

What about those switchback bulbs? See if you can find a set on ebay, I was going to tell you to get one before you had gotten the headlights but forgot to mention.

My personal favorite is the chrome finish one, it looks good and isnt illegal since it shines amber rather than white.

Group Buy!!

Ok got the group buy info sorted out with Robb.

Details

Trade in program available

- 10 people
- $125 for having them cleared
- $150 painted to your liking.
- Lifetime warranty against leakage/fogging
- Will come with custom made foam washers

Trade in program

This is for people who cant afford to have their car off of the road. I'll send you a set of cleared/finished headlights, you swap them for your stock ones and send the stock ones back to me. I will need a down payment of $400 for the headlights up front, upon receiving your headlights, I'll refund $275 or $250 depending on what you have done to the headlights.

Buyers will be responsible for shipping charges that I'd have to endure to send them the headlights.

I'll start a thread soon with the official list etc.

Details on my past vendor thread

ZKW swap

At the moment I have three sets of ZKW lenses. One is spoken for at the moment by Ussi, so in fact I have only two sets. The lenses are $250 a pair in addition to what ever a member decides to have done to the headlight i.e. cleared/painted.

I have a set from 04-05 cleared sitting with me, it can go out to you as soon as tomorrow. If you want to be part of the group buy then put your name up in the list.

I ended up ordering a set of chrome/amber bulbs from autolumination. I thought about switchbacks, but I'm really not set on the whole LED change, and this will at least get me up and going (without having to modify my housing)

Thanks again for everything.

The price seem to have come down a bit but I remember when the combo was first discovered, sets use to go for as much as $400 a pair.

Reason? Supply vs. demand.

Demand is high in the retrofitting world since TL bi-xenon projector is the best bi-xenon projector on the market, supply is VERY VERY low because the lenses can only be obtained from one sort of car that is an 04 BMW 330XI lol.
