Headlight Auto Timer? How to make it work?

I have a 2008 TL and I am trying to figure out how to get the headlights to stay on for the 15 second setting? Does it need to be in the auto setting, or in the on setting? Seems like they go off immediately after I pull the key.

Can someone share which setting it needs to be in to light up the headlights for the 15 seconds when I press the key fob?

So just leave it in the ON position, get out of the car, and they will go off after 15 seconds?

Wonder why they wouldn't have made it work in the AUTO position instead since it would seem to make more sense.

Yep. They really should make that feature, but oh well.
