Wow no respect for peoples hard earned toys! Two weeks after I got my car someone dumped a drink or something on my car. I didn't notice it for a couple days (winter/snow time) and it ate threw the clear coat! (trunk deck) Im glad I didn't see this happen and hope I never do catch someone because the last time someone tried to put there hands on my (actual) girl it cost me 5k in medical bills and 6 months of anger management.

P.S. I don't get why people talk sh*t on TL autos? It's a sedan not a race car. Imo its excusable. On the other hand If you drive and auto 350z or g coupe you should be fired. Before I get bashed for this all my previous cars were manual until I got onto the TL scene. I just couldn't find something I liked in a stick for the same price/condition/features

 

^ I second that! These cars are the perfect blend of sport and luxury. They can blend in yet look so good. Guy from my neighborhood rolls up next to me at a light and rolls his window down. Half joking says, "Man, that car is WAY too fucking cool for you". Made my week.

There are so many other options to hate on besides this 4 door sedan. There are so many ugly cars out there that people love. And still I'd never violate another person's car.

Hell yeah. I like good positive comments like that. To the OP yeah ppl suck at times. I never understood why people would do stuff like that anyways. I always take care when stepping out of a car a not to ding up the car next to me. I'll even back out just to let my passengers get in.

Is it me or are all these stories just coming down from the USA? Cause we never hear of shit like that happening here in Canada. I remember Jay Leno walking DTWN NY asking who the gentlemen on the 100$ bill was and only 20/100 answered knew, This prooves to me how ignorant ppl are.

Who does that, spit on some1's car casue of jellousy or thinks a hyundai is faster then a TL with a lunch box size transmission. this is just so sad for the coming generations

 

I think part of the problem was calling your transmission an "Auto manual". There is nothing manual about the TL transmission, it's a traditional torque converter automatic with paddle shifters. It reminds me of the time a new guy I worked with told me he had "adjusted the carburetors" on his Mitsubishi Eclipse as part of his performance upgrades. Kind of lost all credibility when it comes to cars. Nevertheless, these kids were idiots for messing with your property. If you don't respect someone just say it to their face, don't be a coward and vandalize stuff.

I have had my fair share of haters as well. I love my TL-S..

one of my favs..
I pull up to a light and to my right is this guy in a Mustang..
my window is down... so he shouts out the window.. "Hey man.. what u running under the hood? That Manual? "

I'm like.."oh nothing special.. just a V6 3.5 and nah it's an automatic.. nice car by the way.."

He chuckles.. "thats it? .. 5.0.. try to keep up!"

So, i just flip my VSA off and switch to the paddle shifters haha and the light turns green.. i blew him out of the water.. (i think he sucks at shifting)

a mile down we come up to the next light.. I chuckle and smile and say.."I think u might want to keep up with me"

of course he goes.."You got lucky.."

after that I just switch back to normal auto.. the light turns green and he floors it. I just drive casually.. about 5 miles down the road, i see him on the side of the road, pulled over ... I drove by and just smiled. GG Noob.

Thanks for all the comments gentlemen, and supporting my decision to laugh it off and drive to the nearest car wash... This week has not been very kind to me. I neglected to mention that earlier in the week I had an older lady back into me in a parking lot... It is about $1200.00 worth of damage to my passenger side front and rear doors along with the quarter panel... So, I was already down in the dumps... It was just Icing on the cake that some little S*%T decides to spit on my car... I will upload photos of the damage sometime this weekend. Im just glad that the accident was not my fault and it is getting fixed...

I've been to Canada many times (half of my family lives there) and there is one thing I've learned from traveling there and dozens of other countries. Ignorance is universal.

 

Props for looking on the bright side. I was the victim of a hit & run a couple of years ago. Only had to pay the deductible, but that was $500 that could've been used on... well $500 of other stuff.

Usually not a fan of the term "hater", when it's used in questionable circumstances where the hatee had a valid reason for getting it, besides having something nice. But that kid seemed to be a hater through and through.

Just the other day I parked in a Wendy's parking lot but ended up going to the diner next door. I saw a bunch of kids about my age throw a full frosty all over my windshield and hood. I almost lost it. Oh well, they're just ridiculous, and probably jealous.

I've never had anyone mess with my car at all. If anything i have people waiting by it and ask me questions... I think its the 20MM casing and dog tags i have hanging from the center mirror. And in Utah you can carry any gun in ur car since its considered a extension of a home, without a license... lol

OP, you have, probably, the third car I've seen on the forums get damaged by old ladies in parking lots. What the heck is going on with old ladies?!

 

they are horrible drivers... Old People Suck! Except for the cool ones... hahaha....

 

I guess one of the things that gets to me so bad is the fact that none of those guys would spit on the car with the owner standing there. It's a cowardly act.

On the flip side of the coin, coming from the Domestic side of things let's just say that ignorance goes both ways. I've had a Civic with exhaust offer to give a 600rwhp car a head start because according to them my car is too heavy to win and it's an auto. There's the flyby after every single race after you put 20 car lengths on the guy by 60mph. I've been told we have to race from a stop because FWD is an advantage from a stop. There's the average Civic owner that wants to race over and over because he thinks he has a chance if he can just hit the shifts a little better in his 16 second car. An Eclipse that refuses to pay up because the AWD Typhoon "jumped him" off the start 5 times in a row. The list goes on and on. Trust me, I love beating the average redneck in a supercharged big block with a little V6 as much as anyone else but there's the import equivalent to these uneducated rednecks too.

I admire those of you that can restrain yourself from such things as watching kids throw a frosty all over your windshield. Seriously, I do. There's no doubt I would end up in jail if that happened to me. It's not so much the car as it is the complete lack of respect of another person and their property.

 

Luckily I've only had my car keyed twice. Scratches aren't too deep but it definitely made my blood boil after discovering them. I never double park, I usually park as far away as possible yet someone always finds it necessary to park right beside me when empty spots are everywhere.

 

I don't mind when I come out and I've parked a mile away and find a Mercedes or Bimmer next to my car. I've seen groups of nice cars parked a mile from the store entrance, all kind of protecting one another. You know they're not going to door ding you. I hate it when you have an empty parking lot plus you park a mile away and some POS parks so close to you that you can't get in. IMO, that's when a little retaliation is fine.

I am a HS student and get a lot of compliments out there . Usually if their car is around there, I will give compliments back. But there is only guy who always says that my car is weak, if he gets a SC for his TSX, beat me is just a piece of cake. He doesn't even have money for brand new tires so just BS.The only brand I don't like is Toyota.To me, people who don't care about cars, don't have right to judge a car.

I got a good one. Last week I was washing my car and I noticed a fist sized dent on my front passenger side fender. I live in an apartment complex with plenty of parking spaces that go unused and we park clear on the other side with my tl in between our other cars. I was furious as this was the day of the KC meet and cruise last week. I got it fixed the same day, but it is the lack of respect from other people. No one would just walk up to you and spit on you or throw a frosty in your face, so why do it to our vehicles. Oh thats right, cuz they have no weiner.
