Well everyone of A-Zine. I have officially had my first hater approach me this evening. I was pulling into Sheetz to get a drink and a group of younger guys were outside, and one asks. What Kinda Acura is that? So, I told him a 2007 Acura TL Type S. And proceeded to tell him it was my baby. Cause well, It is... He then asks, Is it a Manual Trans? I said, "No, Its an Auto Manual with Paddle Shifters. He seemed very asshole-ish in his questions and rolled his eyes after I told him that it wasn't a Manual. I proceeded into Sheetz and got what I needed and went out to my car to find a huge Wad of Spit on my Drivers door glass... I chuckled a good bit and looked around to see if the guys were still around so I could express my feelings towards their face, but none the less they had already left the parking lot... I find it amusing that people feel they need express themselves in that way... Very childish...
Does anyone have any stories similar to the one that happened to me this evening? I know I cant be the only one to have experienced this...

 

What a bunch of morons im glad atleast you were able to get a little chuckle from it. Theres no point in even getting pissed because of people like that. To be honest with you the only reason they acted the way they did is because they were jealous of your car.

Haha what an idiot. My car has been called a foreign piece of shit on more than one occasion by the class-acts I attend school with. I bite my lip and try not to say anything about their lifted, rusty 199x Chevy Silverados. Ignore it.

 

I feel you bro. I'm a HS teacher and I've had students spit on my hood and some ass monger threw/spit a wad of gum on my trunk lid. They keyed my previous ride across the entire passenger side from front blinker to the back. Cost $1200 to fix. I'm worried all day every day about my baby. Thank God its the summer and I can rest easy knawmsayin.

 

Mine got spit on today in a grocery store parking lot. Was clean when I went inside, passenger door had spit on it when I got back out, I laughed.

 

Looking back, i took leave to go back to michigan. Went to the downriver cruise, had her for 4 - 5 months already. Well i was just going thru and some kid told me to buy american and serve your country... For 1 im pretty sure it was assembeled in Ohio Amirite? and 2 I'm in the military, basically one step up then "buying American"

I got a door ding even though I parked at the very end of a walmart parking lot.

 

Had some Kids slash 2 of the tires on some 20" chrome wheels I had...

And had another kid go off about how his Hyundai Tiburon (130hp version) is faster than my modded TL simply because his hyundai was manual and "everybody knows ANY manual can beat ANY automatic..."

Its funny how the majority of the people who hate on Honda/Acura's seem to be...well, very stupid and don't know their facts.

 

This kind of stuff makes me nervous about going to college in Michigan in a year.

Eh i wouldnt be to worried, this was just some hick kid that lived in a trailer park... Not trying to be mean, but they arnt all there in the head half the time. But there is a great car scene out there, whenever i go home everyone loves my car because they rarely see it out there.. Shit my dad used to work for Ford, and had a caddy. when he sat in my car he said " this is just like my Deville just a little smaller and more sporty". he loved it.

Not so true, i told my self I would never byy a Honda in my life because i didnt really like them. I had friends that all had MkIII supras, 240's and MR2's... But some how i still ended up with a "honda" lol. Even told the dealer right when i signed the paper "I told my self i would never buy a Honda... What am I getting my self into?" lol

I once walked out to my car and found that someone put out a cigarette on. The windshield of my car... I guess I must have parked in someone else's spot When I finally made it into my car to drive, I could see little swirls in the glass. Now this is all heresy because I didn't actually see it... Just the evidence and figure that it makes a good story

 

I wouldn't be surprised if this was part of the reason they did it.

I've run into enough people who like to give others shit for not driving manuals, because their sudden ability to work a 3rd pedal & move a lever around makes them a better car enthusiast. The only saving grace is watching them fade in my mirrors because they're talking smack with a car that can't creep over 90Mph without shaking like a tin can despite being a "quick", older import (240, MR2, etc.).

I had my fun with the manual (I miss it at times), but I'm quite content with my auto. I'll pick up another toy if I feel like having another manual.

Eh, whatevs. You're definitely the better man for not getting bent out of shape. I, luckily, have had no hate on my ride. I get complimented at least once a week now. People don't necessarily recognize the model, but usually stop and say "Damn! What is that? F***in clean!" That, and M4 armed guards on base stop most delinquits!

A few years ago i was studying at university at night. I came out around 5-6am to head home after a long night to see that some morons stuffed a whole lotta paper under my wiper blades of my White 745Li and set it on fire. Luckily it rained and the water doused it out. Nevertheless, the windshield had burn spots as well as the hood. Nothing a good buff couldn't fix. Haters will be haters.

 

Thats sad, and your a better guy than me. Im very anal about my car, my house, my things in general. I like to have everything nice and clean and I once told my self that i would never buy a Honda as well. But i am in love with my car. My wife asks me sometimes if i love my car more than i love her haha. Anyways, I would have been pissed if they were acting the way they were and then I came out and there was spit on my window. Since they were probably walking home i would have drove around looking for em lol.

I feel like 99% of the people that see my car respect it, even the non car people at my work compliment me on it, which is nice. But there is this one guy (drives a V6 charger and has a mopar tattoo) who always likes to cock a sly smile and say "nice honda". I say "nice fiat" and go on my way.

On a side note I feel as though the birds are the ones hating on my car....why is it right after I clean it they take a big shit on it? Yet every car around me has nothing on their hood, almost as if the birds were aiming for my car....stupid WDP must catch their attention in the sky

Not that it would have mattered to those stupid kids, but more and more carmakers are shying away from sticks. New Ferrari 458 Italia is the first Ferrari ever not offered with their famous gated shifter. New Lamborghini Aventador, same deal. Not to mention other "pretty fast" stickless cars like Mercedes SLR McLaren, or Bugatti Veyron which will pretty much eat anything.
