Has anyone tried glass coating?

hi everyone, i was wondering if anybody has tried glass coating their car. Please post up pics if you have. How long is the process? Can it be done in a shop? i ran into a thread on 8thcivic and the shine looks beautiful! Im really considering doing this to my car if its not ridiculously expensive. heres a pic of what glass coating can do!

the amount of lighting in that pic is why the car looks so shiny. if u look carefully there are many long light strips on the ceiling, plus outside sunshine. granted, i know the car will look good, but im just saying its overly deceiving because of the lighting. a proper detailing job without the glass coating will look the same too. my car looked about that shiny too when i had it detailed.

I would do it if it actually shatters like glass when i slam it with a hammer, but it's mere reproduction of clear flim with who-knows-how-much-% of silicate in it.

There are videos of scratching real glass with 4H pencil, and the glass coat with the same pencil.

it turns out you can etch your own custom drawings on the "glass coat"
(btw glasses are supposed to have 9H hardness)

**I might be wrong about the H numbers, my memory's old. please correct me if i'm wrong**

turns out that jglaze is some company in Thailand i think... im not too sure though. I know its popular in japan. But i figured there has got to be some equivalent over here in the US. From what i read the treatment is suppose to add a couple of micrometers of the the glass coating over the paint. its suppose to be more durable then clear coat and you can supposedly just rinse your car off to remove all the dirt and grime. i agree that lighting in that picture played an important role and might have exaggerated how shiny it was but the fact that its so much easier to manage has caught my attention. I can spend an entire day detailing my car for that nice deep wet black look but it will get dirty again in about 2 days. It will be just heavenly if i can just do a basic wash and get that detailed look without all the hassle. i found a clip of how water just glides off this material. heres the link

Just about any freshly clayed and waxed car will act like that. I think the real question is if it still does that after a month or two without reapplication.
