Has anyone ever matched or come close to their max GVW

Im going on vacation to the jersey shore during memorial day weekend and I have to bring myself and 3 other friend PLUS their luggage and im worried about over carrying my limit, I read that the GVW for an 08 TL-S is 850lb including passenger weight and were at about 680 pounds without any luggage so im kinda paranoid...by the way its like a hour and a half - two hour trip

Please be aware that the handling might be squirrelly (see first link below). Drive accordingly.

I'm pretty sure I exceeded the weight limit once. Went out to the mountains to play golf with my parents and brother and we took the TL. Three adult men, one woman, and four golf bags. The car was riding noticeably low in the back and I didn't make any sudden moves when driving; I also took some of the sharper turns and highway on-ramps more slowly than usual. It handled OK, but I wouldn't do it again if I could avoid it. Thankfully, the drive was only about 63 miles each way.

When you think about it, 850 pounds is a low load limit if you're carrying adults. Four typical adult men can easily bring you right up to 800 pounds without putting anything in the trunk.

dang you must not be from LA. personally i weigh 120 lb and i have only very few friends who are around the 200lb mark or more. i love the fact that my car is faster than someone else who drives the same car because most people weigh more than me

Pretty sure i had it over the limit before. Trunk was Packed, rear floor boards and seats were packed. I had blind spot everywhere behind the drivers seat but my wife helped with navigating in traffic. We drove 900 miles one way, then 550 back home with the same luggage
