Hard To Hear Turn Signal
Sometimes the road noise is too loud and can't hear when the turn signal is left on. I've tried getting a after market turn signal relay but none is avialable. Does anyone know of a source or a method of making it louder? Acura service department, factory and Edmons no help either.

I've had my TL for a week. I find the turn signal hard to hear. More annoying, it seldom turns off after my turns. I guess I need to steer more sharply or folks will think I'm an octegenarian as I drive the roads with a constant blinker.

Road Rage I like your humor but can you imagine going through a intersection that the other cross trafic has a stop sign and they think you are going to make a right turn. I don't think the air bags will help much at 55 MPH when I T-Bone them.

I have found the easiest (yet quite expensive) option is to get something called a wife. (Alternatively referred to as a "back seat driver" in some of the manuals) However, don't let the term fool you, usually this option is located in the front seat directly to the right of the driver.
This option provides audible feedback for the following conditions:
Driving too fast
Driving too slow
Leaving the turn signal on
Following too closely
Missing or approaching turns too quickly
Abrupt lane changes
Police speed-traps (although usually not until after the police have engaged their lights and siren)
It also identifies other vehicles performing the same or similar actions
Warning: this system requires a great deal of maintenance, and, as with all shrill sounds can be applied to such an extreme that it may only be effective the first several times after which it may be ignored ....
Hope this helps

At least you're using them..... thanks
All I can say is thanks to all of you people out there USING the turn signals.
I can't tell you (and I am sure most of the members to this forurm) how many
drivers I run into (almost literally too...!) on a daily basis because they all seem to think
the rest of the drivers on the road are blessed with ESP and should KNOW that they are
going to turn without having to give any indication whatsoever. I guess they all think
that turn indicator is there only for looks.
Just my

I guess if you wanted to be sure you could hear your turn signal, you should have bought a Chevy Cavalier or similar -- although they're so noisy you may not even hear their loud turn signals. By the way, why do you want to hear the turn signals, anyway? You can look at the instrument panel and see if they are on or off... I kinda like having the silence.

My turn signals seem to be just the right volume. I did have a weird issue that went away soon after I first got the TL.
The left turn signal would turn off when I turn the wheel left a bit as I enter a left turn lane. I would have to turn the signal on again. Then after making a left turn, it would NOT turn off! I would have to manually turn it off. It didn't do that on right turns. After a month or so, it corrected itself and works like other cars.
This car is so good that it fixes itself!

As one who somewhat recently aquired the aforementioned device I would not recommend this solution be taken lightly. It is far more intrusive than one would expect and seems to become even more so as time goes on. If one were to decide the device is not for them it can be very difficult and expensive to terminate the contract. On the other hand, she would probably take the TL with her so you wouldn't have to worry about the turn signals any more. You'll be taking the bus.
Be careful.

In all seriousness how frequently do you check your guages while driving? The gigantic blinking green arrows are really hard to miss (they are almost and inch long within the console and light up the guage console when turned on).
Sorry to beat a dead horse...
on another note, you could always try to rewire the audible seat belt warning system to engage with the blinker

PS My take on the signal sound is just fine. The BMW has a loud TOCK TOCK TOCK that (pardon the pun) 'drives' me crazy! Plus the big flashing green arrows on the TL panel kinda gives me a clue!

It has been mentioned here on other threads, but there are several "luxury" features that are common on other marques but MIA on the TL.
A feature I like on Caddies and some Chryslers is a chime that comes on if you leave the turn signal on after the turn. That's very handy.
In bright sunlight (which is all the time in Florida except at night), the green flashing indicator in the instrument panel doesn't grab your attention unless you look down for it.
Now, who says there is a turn signal indicator in the center console??
I won't hijack this thread by going into the other missing features. Maybe I'll start a new one.
