HandsFreeLink Booting Up?

Hi,

I'm writing this email thread on behalf of my friend.

I have an 06 TL but he just bought a used 04 TL with Navi.

When i press the phone (HFL) button on his car (on steering wheel), i do not hear a beep.

When i scroll through the MID menu and see HandsFreeLink and press "select", all i see is a message saying: "booting up:.

What does this mean?

It just stays there and does nothing. WHen i press the HFL button on the steering wheel i hear no beep.

Thanks.

04 hfl

A lot of the 04 HFL modules were bad. There's a service bulletin on that, and one or more threads on it. Look in the 3G garage. Could also be a fuse. My system locked up on me once, cause unknown. It cleared itself when I restarted the car later that day, and hasn't been a problem since.

If it's the module it's an expensive part to replace.

hold down the call start and end buttons for 10 seconds together and it should go into self diagnostics mode. This usually unfreezes it and it starts working.
