Grrrrr-Passenger Side Mirror Knocked Off

Major snowstorms in Utah right now, I was driving down my street to go to work this morning and somehow slid/misjudged a garbage can- knocked the passenger side mirror clean off. It's broken at the tube that the wires come through, flush with the lower housing that's connected to the car. The mirror is still fine, other than the break at that point. What are my options? Do I have to replace the whole thing or is there some way to reattach? The break is exactly like what's shown in the pictures in this thread:

I'm not a happy guy this morning.

Don't worry had my passenger mirror broken for the stupidest reason. They stole the heating element and glass but left the housing all broken to hell but still hanging on my car outside the lounge I was in. You could just try getting away with getting a new housing. In my case the idiots stole the majority of my mirror's components so I had to get a full replacement. Oh and when this happened I only had the car for 3 weeks, so imagine how pissed I was.

Update- it looks like I'll need to replace the whole mirror, dealer wanted $300 for the part and $160 for install, luckily I found an AM mirror on ebay for $100. Not sure if I'll be able to put the mirror on once it arrives, I believe you have to take the whole door panel apart? If not, I guess I'll just pay the dealer to do it.

you have to remove the door panel and the plastic trim along the window i think..it's not hard.

Also, I'm assuming you can just pop the mirror glass off the actuator and replace that? The broken mirror is still fine so I was going to use the glass to replace my driver's side mirror which has some wierd discoloration around the inside edge.

You can just pop off the mirror glass, but they're different parts. Passenger side won't fit the driver's side mirror.

The passenger side is the convex mirror..."Objects appear closer than they are."
