Changed transmission fluid via 3 x 3 method. But for good measure I drained and filled 4 times. I also changed the transmission filter as described here:

My TL has 120K. The transmission fluid was never changed to my knowledge. The old fluid was dark diarrhea brown. And the old filter was very dirty.

I used the the new Acura transmission fluid ATF-DW1 which replaced ATF-Z1.

I noticed my car is not as smooth as before. It drives slightly rougher.

I'm assuming its the new fluid ATF DW-1. Is this going to adversely effect the life of my tranny? SInce it says on the bottle "Specifically formulated for newer Acura vehicles." but ATF DW-1 is all the dealership sold as previous one is discontinued.

 

looks like the probem went away after 100 miles of driving.

shifting grears is just as smooth as before.

how often should i change tranny fluid from this point forth?
