Great start to my weekend!!!

I was the victim of a hit and run today. Some b*tch turned the corner and hit my car. The worst part is she pulled next to where I was standing but at that point I didn't know she had already hit my car. My nephew comes running down the street yelling "SHE JUST HIT YOUR CAR !!!". By the time I realized what was going on she had already pulled off, so I jumped my car to chase her but she was long gone. So now I guess I gotta eat this one. I'm so pissed right now, but I guess it could've been a lot worse !
Oh well maybe I'll try to get a Type S rear now!!! Anybody know of a good body shop in the Philly/SNJ/Delaware area???

I wasn't too happy when a fellow hit the right front when my wife was driving. Minor impact as the same cover was used, and it actually worked out fine as the body shop matched the WDP body color and now the front bumper is identical in color to the body......Now if someone hit the rear I'd be all set.
I'm in Jersey and the shop is in Clinton, but tht's too far from Philly.

call your agent- uninsured motorist/hit and run part of coverage usually requires a license plate of the offending vehicle- but a description of car and driver, and a witness to the crash may be all you need
Certainly worth a call- Good luck!

call the police and get a report done, no matter what always do this. You'll probably need a little bit of metal work on the lower panel, a full repaint of that panel which sucks since that involves painting the whole pillar and panel. New bumper will probably be needed as well, see if you can get insurance to pay for the Type-S rear or the Type-S kit.

Thx for your advice, I've already reported it to the cops and my insurance co. Will something like this show up on my carfax? So not only am out of the $500 for the deductible and but I'm also going to take a hit on resale value too, right?

Guess it is the time of year to do hit and runs on WDP Acura's. I was pretty pissed when this happened to my car last week as well.

And here I thought it was NBPs that were cursed.

Don't know where you were, but see if there were any cameras in the area. Might've caught a plate.

My car was hit while parked as well, I ended up eating the $500 deductible. My insurance didn't give me any compensation for the hit on resale value, which sucked.

good luck with everything man.

Is there something I should inquire about in reference to losing resale value?

It really sucks when you try hard to take care of your car, then someone hits it and doesn't even take responsibility.

Someone scraped the side of my car when it was parked at my apt. I don't think it was anyone who lived there, cause before I went to bed I'd steped out and notice the car next to me wasn't one I recognized.
The damage wasn't bad at all though, came out with buffing; still pissed me off though

Funny you mention that because this just came in the mail today from Allstate for me....I didn't request it or even expect them to actually do anything. Although I do believe my diminished value to be more than $150!

$156 is better than nothing. However, you would lose most likely thousands due to the accident when selling it. Buyers haggle if they find anything wrong with the car or prior accidents. Hopefully, you'll keep the car until it falls apart.

I posted the picture above. The repair quote was a little over $1800. Basically the passenger fender was replaced, front bumper painted, paint blended into door and hood and pass. front rim replaced. And I agree 156 is definitely better than nothing, especially when i was not expecting it. It nearly covers my deductible.

That is what's bothering me. I'm thinking about trading it in, I don't really feel like losing more value than what I already have.

Just got back from the Insurance Adjuster's office, they are estimating the damage at $1100. I thought it was gonna be way more than that. I'll guess I'll know for sure when I get it to the body shop on Monday.

Update: I went to the shop to pick up my car today and now I'm really pissed. The guy did a flawless job on the body work but the paint is totally off, I mean it's not even close. The car is WDP and the back end of the car looks bone w/ sparkles in it. I was ready to explode, I told them that I'm not signing the check until the car is 100% and left back out with my rental. The guy at the shop said the color is off because the car has been sitting in the sun and that made the paint look different. I honestly believe they got second hand paint. I brought an aftermarket spolier from eBay, that matches perfectly why is it that their paint is off by so much?

Did your body shop have any trouble matching the paint?

At first he tried to act like he couldn't see the difference, but it was so obvious that he couldn't hold out for long. He told me to check back with him on Monday. I think he knows he brought bullsh*t paint and now he's just going to get the right stuff. There was no way that OEM paint could be off by that much. I wish I took pics but with me being so pissed, that was the last thing on my mind.

Thx man... I hope that doesn't happen to me. I've had 3 different cars that had body work including a Monterrey Blue Pearl '99 TL and I've never had trouble like this before.

Ask him directly what paint he used. Tell him you want to see the container the paint came in. Does anyone here know what the correct paint is? How do you tell? Maybe someone will chime in with the answer. Then, make him show you the new paint container before he starts the second paint job. Also, if he put crap paint on, should it be removed before putting the good stuff on? These are questions you need answers to before anything else happens.

Also, the good paint is very expensive. I'm pretty sure your estimate is figured using the "good" paint. If he is skimping on paint, then you should report him to your insurance, especially if his shop is one "recommended" by your insurance company
