Got a Question

I bought a can of Night Shades tint for my sidemarkers and was just wondering if I could get away with just taping around them or if I need to actually remove them. I searched but couldn't find the answer. Hopefully one of yall can help.

I had a bodyshop paint mine for 40 bucks, roughly an hour of labor, consider that?

Personally, I would remove them. You don't want the spray getting everywhere, or running because you are using it on a vertical surface. The job will look much better if you spray them away from the car.

It's SSM. I know the rear sidemarkers aren't to difficult to remove but what about the fronts?
And Ack, I would but I'm trying to save up for a set of your tails.
And a forgot to ask, what do y'all think about spraying the rear emblems? I thinking about trying to get them to look like black chrome.

Find a body shop to paint them SSM, It looks much cleaner than black IMO.. its only 40 bucks and chances are a bodyshop isnt going to fuck up on them...

Good luck getting the nightshadez to stick to the emblems.. Unless you do it SUPER LIGHT coats, like barely misting it on. Most people don't do the fronts.. BUT, they pop out just like the back. Loosen the fender liner in the front and reach!

If you are skilled/careful, you can get away with taping it off...using a LOT of tape.

If you paint the emblems they become a black chrome but make sure the bottle is shaken up very well. Also the fronts are a huge pain because unless you have tiny fingers things many break so be careful. They come out the same way but the fender pad is in the way of the door side clip.

if your doing any kind of painting work, its best to remove the part from the car, IMO that is how you can get the best job and avoid any risk of getting overspray on parts of the car that you dont want to

Re-tape the sides and they have two plastic nipples that should "hold" it to the car but from the inside I would just throw a tiny bit of sealant or epoxy on it.
