Got a Purolator synthetic for $3.95 :D

pepboys was having oil change special with pennzoil + puro filters. i got the pure one and they were out of stock so..... just decided to upgrade me to the blue canister.

not like i'm going to feel any difference but

btw, why are these filters so thin? the canister. it's almost like a sprite can(i'm just sayin)

I have a hyundai OEM filter, amsoil, honda OEM, they are rock solid.

is purolator safe?!

Too much thinking really, of course nothing will happen, and if you got the "upgrade" to a more premium product it must be wonderful. A lot of people use Puro

I don't like pure ones I use to use them and noticed my oil to be way to dirty for my liking. I don't recommend them for extended drain intervals 3000 for me on these filters.

just sayin, you cant judge the quality or life of oil by its color.

Purolators are good filters, you'll be fine. If not WIX i'm using the low end purolator which is still good.

IIRC, in general the S2K filter is a little longer and has a bit more filter media and volume. I usually go with those instead of the stubby filters (whether it be OEM, WIX, or Purolator).

What's your definition of an extended drain? Cause most filters out there would do 5,000 miles easily. PureOne could probably do twice that but I wouldn't recommend it.

I LMAO at people who believe this. As already stated, there is no way you can know that by eyeballing it. PureOne is a good filter and fine for extended drain intervals. Here's a link to 3 of my UOA's, all using PureOne filters:

Purolator PureONE oil filters should be replaced every 3,000 miles or 3 months depending on the driving conditions - or unless otherwise specified by the vehicle's manufacturer.

If you want to be technical, technically the MID typically states every ~5k (as manufacturer specified).

Actually between B and A services that almost seem to alternate, almost 10k miles in between filter (not oil) changes.

Of course I personally change the filter whenever the oil is changed (~5k).

Re-read it. Now go find what BMW recommends on their cars. Purolator just have that up to cover their asses.
