got into a wreck :(

some guy tried to turn left onto a street from the middle lane and i was right next to him on the left. He said he didnt see me but im sure he didnt even look in his mirrors. Kind of sucks because i just got my headlights done by jnc and put on last week Good news is that noone was injured and the damage to the car wasnt that bad.

here are some pics:

Rims are scratched and the bumper was more messed up but i fixed it a little.
How much you guys think this will cost to repair? The other guy was driving a company car and didnt have the insurance info in the car but im assuming the company has the car insured.

I had similiar damage done to my car... well alittle more than that and it was around 5100 dollars to fix it. MAKE sure they blend paint very well cause i had to take mine back for a second time to get it fixed.

damn...5100 and 4800, that seems like a lot. I was thinking around $2500 but i guess i can see how it can add up to 5100.

first of all make sure that ur state allows for depreciated value, if it does tell the other insurance that you want the depreciated value for ur car because it has been in an accident and they will tell u wat steps u need to follow from there. they will send out an appraiser, i would recommend getting ur own upraisal for the depreciated value to just to make sure they dont cheat you and give u less than u deserve.

cool thats good info...i have another question. Will the insurance company give me the option of not taking my car to the body shop and just give me a check after they figure out how much the damage is worth? i ask this because i was looking online for some parts such as the fender and headlights and i found them significantly cheaper than if i were to go to the dealer and get the same parts.

Owe any money on the car? Most ins co will make the check payable to the shop and car owner. State Farm did that, and there was no loan on our car, but I wanted the car fixed so never questioned that.

im pretty sure u could prob do that ... but the benefit from my understanding of taking it to the body shop is that if there is more damage underneath the will get more money from the insurance to fix it ... so i would go through body shop personally, but im not super experienced on the matter

yea the car is paid off but i was asking that because the damage also doesnt seem that bad. It seems like i could personally do all the work to it and it would be fine. i looked at it today and it seems like the only real damage i see is the fender, bumper, the headlight, and the windshield washer fluid container (has a whole in it). Ive taken all of those things off and put it back together successfully except the fender and that seems easy too. i would only really need to spend a lot of money on the paint and refinishing the rim. so idk i may just take it to the shop and let them do it because its just easier to do.

go for the shop so u can get everything fixed right ... im not sayin u can't this way its juss u have someone to blame if even after the fix its not up to ur standards ... u know? ... ... it'll prob be ezier to get ur depreciated value check if u go through a shop rather than doing it urself

noway its gonna be 5k...

fender, passenger headlight + foglight, bumper, aspec lip + labor

looks like the bracket behind the headlight is fucked... doesn't appear it was your fault either so you shouldn't have to even dishout the deductible... and if you do you will likel y be reimbursed... kind've sucks cuz we spoke not too long ago about your ride

well I was in a $13k wreck fall of 07... if you need any advice do hit me up

yea i think imma go through the body shop because it will probably be done faster and like VQPower37 said, i can get a guarantee on their work.

btw the foglight is straight and i dont have an aspec kit but it kinda looks like i do and yea that brackets are all messed up so i will need new ones. It was the other guys fault so im pretty sure i wont have to pay for anything.. will my insurance rate go up though even if it wasnt my fault?

I believe your rate will go up whether you were at fault or not.

your insurance rate shouldn't go up..I was hit also and mine did not go up at all. also they should be able to make the check out to you. I was hit a few months ago and was able to have the girl's insurance write the check to me, not any auto body shop
