Goodbye Acura-Hello Infinti
I dunno, I was making a choice between the TL-S and the G35X last summer. The AWD vs FWD for snow was a factor for me too, but in the end I decided the TL-S offered way better styling and features for my taste.
I wasn't happy with the interior or the exterior of the G35, and as everyone has said prior to me.... how your car does in the snow has more to do with your tires than anything else, and I am happy to say the TL-S with Potenza G019 Grids does great in the snow.
Let us know how u like the G35 though, congrats!

Last night in the Snow storm in DC... My friend (g37x) and I (TL-S) were driving back to my place from work (4 miles). We left at the same time, but I got back 45 mins before him. He's G got stuck in the snow 4 times within a 4 mile span.
So don't always think that the G is better.
TL-S FTW!

it also depends on if you know how to drive in the snow...i lived in North Dakota and learned how to drive properly in snow...now i live in Oklahoma...i drove my TL last year in the snow while in Oklahoma(first month i owned the car) and it handled it very very well...it was the other drivers that worried me. I too was looking at Infinitis when I bought my Tl and decided I preferred the overall look of the interior and exterior of the TL...it was basically the "better bang for my buck." I also treat my dates in this fashion.

{btw, my ex-wife has had 2 G35's. Never a single issue.}
Wonder how this discussion would go on the Infiniti forum.
Get some Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus tires and you'll be fine.
Tires make all the difference. My TL-S had Michelin MXM4's on there for the stockies, and were classified as a grand touring tire. They should have been called summer tires, they were totally worthless. In a half inch of snow, they had no traction. They would hydroplane at 50mph on the highway. All with just 20k miles on them. They were actually dangerous to drive on in anything but dry conditions. Dumped them for Pilot Sport A/S plus, and no problems since. I was driving around in 5 inches of snow, didn't slide once.

Well i posted the other day about how awful my tl with the bridgestone potenza re030 handled in the snow. The only reason i didnt get new tires is because i was trading in the car soon. I decided on getting an 07-08 g35x and am in the process of negotiating a good deal on two options. I just wanted something a little different i have owned 3 acuras before and loved the relaibility, but i am just looking for something a little different as well as a lot better in the snow. Plus more HP
I will post up pics soon once i decide which g35x i am going to get
If you want a vehicle that's alot better in the snow (regardless of what kind of vehicle), invest in a good set of snow tires.
I work with a guy with an AWD 07 G35x with brand new All-Season Michelins. When my shift ends and we are driving on the same snowy roads, I've been able to outgun him at each and every stop light (with my 07 TL with a set of Blizzaks) before we finally reach the freeway on-ramp.
AWD and horsepower ain't worth shit if you don't have the proper set of tires in blizzard conditions. I just laugh when I see all the SUV's in the ditch due to a self-sense of over confidence.
Put some some snow tires on that G35x and you'll have an unbeatable car in the snow
