Good week gone bad!!
Well, I was washing and waxing my car Saturday in Chicago, where the weather was amazing for the first time in many moons. It took me 5 hours to wash, clay, and wax both TLs. Well, I went to school on Tuesday for 3 hours, and came out and it was raining. I went to an interview at Acura of Libertyville, and it was still raining. Then I drove an hour home after a little talk with a manager at A of L. Yada Yada Yada, I woke up the next morning and noticed this...
The hit and run occured when I was at school. Three hours is all it takes for a idiot to hit you. By the way, I parked at the very end with my tires ON THE WHITE LINE. The car had plenty of elbow room...
I talked to one of the college "police" and he told me there are no cameras on the lot... so there is no way of catching the person who did this. Also, my only option is to file a report and go through insurance; my deductible is 500, so I will not be doing this. I think I can clay some of the dirt off, but the deep scratches will need to be touched up. I have some touch up paint from when my car was repainted, so I hope I can do a good enough job on fixing it.
Any advice or tricks on how to do a "good" job on this? I tried it before, and it came out kind of cruddy. I put 5-6 layers of white paint, then 4-5 layers of pearl and it turned out decent. That job was done in the inside of the trunk, so it is not a noticable spot.
Thanks for reading.

about 25-40% of it can be covered by the aspec rear lip... the rest may have a slight chance of being buffed out but all things point to needing it to be repainted... should not cost more than $250 and on the bright side ur bumper will match now

They already match!!! I had the entire car painted last September. I don't have 250 to repaint a bumper =\ That doesn't look too bad. I may try to buff it so its smooth, then paint, then buff again.
Who knows, if it doesn't turn out good, all I can do is try harder.

I say first use the compound, the post pics of the remainder of the damage. If's its able to be covered by the a-spec, opt for that rear lip, if not, then just touch it up.

Dang....I could not understand your frustration more right now. This same exact thing just happen to my 05 TL. It was legally parked and some &%$#@ hit my car and scratched. Mine actually got dented in a little bit though...since they did not leave a note (of course)..I called my insurance company to find out I am covered but I have 1000 deductible (I knew this) and the damage is about $1025...so they would only pay about $25 ?!?!?! I was very upset but there was nothing I could do unfortunately! Good luck!
This was the picture I took as soon as I walked up to the car a noticed the damage...I was heartbroken.
This was the picture I took after I washed the car and was able to buff the scuff marks out but the scratches and the dent is still there unfortunately!!

What crappy luck, and to have it happen just after you spent all that time detailing it. Keep a good eye out in your parking lot for the other vehicle since most people frequent the same place almost everyday. The moron will be wearing some of your paint and might not even know about it.
