Good, reliable DETAILING services needed!
OK, maybe some of you have seen my posts in "TL in the Snow." Well it snowed like a mofo here yesterday. Most of my car was ice, while using the ice chipper, I scratched my paint (shocker). Stupid, I know. I knew it was gonna happen. On top of that, the Palisades meet is this weekend and my car needs to be clean w/o scratches.
Anyone know of a good, reliable and not super expensive detailing shop in Queens? (I live by Fresh Meadows to provide a point of reference) I called Detailing Dynamics in L.I. and it's $65/hour, and the I spoke to guy has no idea how long it will take to wash the TL inside and out. That was a put-off.
What have been your experiences with detailing services buffing out scratches, and as a whole. I've never gotten it detailed here. In FL i ONLY get it detailed, but I cant exactly call them...

Not sure, How bad are the scratches? Picutres would be nice. Since im out here in Cali I cant really help you, but ive payed about 200-250 on a head to toe detail ( car came out brand new ). Buffing out scratches would be more costly. If they scratches are light you might be able to buff it out yourself pretty easy.
Best of luck.

They're not like "HOLY SHIT! LOOK AT THE BIG ASS SCRATCH ON UR HOOD, JOEY!!" - but it's just another one of those things that I, as the owner, notice. (In addition to the dent on my hood - ugh! F'in $$$ out the window!) I'm going to shop around for estimates on how much it would be to pop the dent, buff the scratches and wash the car around 1:00 PM. I'll take pics and post later on today for ya.
I'm looking to get the job done tomorrow morning or mid-Saturday.

JoeyAspec,
There's a pretty good detailing place in Whitestone, Queens...
It's on 12th Road b/w 150th and Clintonville St.... Right on the Middle of the Block next to a Parking Lot... a full exterior detail should be around $100~$120 Bucks... Those guys are real Good... Nothing but high end vehicles there all the time... When I take my car there I feel like my car is a Hooptie...
Good Luck...

Well I never detail my TL yet but Ive detailed my 94 Accord back in a day. They spent about 4 hours on my car. Im talking about using q-tips in every crack and creves the Accord had and then some. It not something I do alot but every few years or so I dish out the cash to get this done. The car comes back like "brand new" to a point. For a car its like going to the spa for some rest and relaxition. IMO

Aventura's Finest Hand Car Wash is the best in the country.... $15 + tip for a great wash, inside and out, $65 + tip for a great wash and wax, $125 + tip for a full detail, interior shampoo and leather Lexol.... the place is filled with RR, BMW, MB, Lexus all day, I drive 30 miles for it a couple times a month

You're not talking about the car wash next to the gas station are you?

When I'm in FL I have a company that details the exterior and interior of the car for $50. It's usually $55-65/hour, but that's what happens when you're a frequent customer and friends with the owner. Thanks for the help though... I may still check out Aventura.

Pics as requested... sry about the quality - snow doesn't allow for the actual image but it was the best i could do w/o adding water to the car.
Before snow...

After snow... (being in the corner spot sucks when it snows b/c the plows put all the snow around ur car. Suprisingly, I made it out w/o any problems this morning!)

And the scratches... I tried to circle them but idk how to do that with iPhoto on Mac. They're the two long marks by the top of the hood.

I visited Detailing Dynamics and the guy quoted me $100 to fix all scratches. He was really cool but 100 seems steep? Those are just the two big ones, though. They'res 2 big ones and a lot of little ones... (the pic below - not as noticeable.) They run along that side of the hood along the flared "V" or w/e ya call it.
Smaller scratches...
