Good dealer in Seattle, WA

Hi all, I am new to this board, and since it's the end of my lease on my 2000 Vette (ugh, what a mistake), I'm looking to purchase outright a sports sedan. I've considered all comers, specifically, Acura TL, G35 sedan (ugly), Lexus 330 (slow), BMW 330 (too $$$), and last but not least, Subar WRX STi (I know...rice rocket, but it's my friend's car, and he's willing to sell). I'm very strongly leaning towards Acura, as it seems to be the best mix of power, luxury, and value. I am in the midst of reading "Don't get Taken every time you buy a car" book by a leading consumer advocate, and wanted to know if anyone's got a good dealer in the Pacific NW, and if they care to disclose how much they paid for their car...

thanks for your help

I purchased from Som @ Acura of Seattle. He is a good guy, but don't expect any deals from them. I paid MSRP. Back in Dec-Jan, there were no dealers in the PNW offering below MSRP on navi models.

I'm buying my second TL (first was 02 Type-S) from Acura of Bellevue. I would definitely recommend them, especially the service department. Be prepared to pay MSRP for a NAV or 6MT though...they're pretty much selling them before they even hit the lot. My sales guy was Randy - he seems pretty nice. I liked that they gave me what I wanted for trade-in on my current car without a fight. Of course, probably because they're making their $$ off the new one. Either way, worth a visit!

I agree with Xerxes480. I finalized my order last night and had a nice experience with Acura of Bellevue. In my case I worked with Pat Tenud who was very professional and addresses all of my concerns.

I recommend them.

I bought mine from Jay at Acura of Bellevue.

100% satisfied. He knows a lot about the car and will even let you test-drive it alone.

I bought mine from Juan at Acura of Fife. Got a 6spd with out nav for 31,500. He was pretty new, but a really cool guy with low pressure. So far I haven't had any need for service, allthough it looks like my seat mem is on the fritz. I will let you know how the service works out in Fife.

tonyufTL,

what did you order, and what did they give you for a delivery date?

Hey, thanks for replying everyone! So far, I gather that folks are lucky to be getting ~$1000 off MSRP for non-NAV AT models (and probably even less so up here in the Northwest). Anyone try Costco buying program? I'm prepared to wait a bit until the season frenzy starts dying down (or maybe even until ~August or September, when they begin introducing the '05 models)...of course, I'd like to get one now!

Hi Xerxes480,

I ordered a 6 spd Navi Anth/Ebony.
Full Body kit, rear wing spoiler, door edge trim, side molding and wheel locks.

The build date is the 31st and ETA is April 11-18. Very Excited!

Kneedowngsxrboy,

I pushed really hard here in the NW and almost bought the car from a dealer in FL. When all was said and done... you're right I don't think people are getting that great of a price break. Honestly I do feel that the car is very well priced for what it is and while negotiation is a big part of the fun of buying a car we are getting a lot of car for our money even if we only get peanuts off of MSRP.

I know this isn't in the Seattle area, but it is the Northwest. I got a beautiful Anthracite with camel, 6MT +HPT from Chuck Spresser at Kendall Acura in Eugene, OR.

I traded in an '03 Nissan 350Z and got the $$ I wanted without them ever even seeing the trade-in. I also got the car for $31,750. Absolutely no hassle and all done via the Internet. I did not want to get pressured by in-person sales people.

One of the better experiences I ever had dealing with an auto dealership.

Give them a try if you're even close to the NW.

I loved the Z as a "3rd car", but the TL is a far classier car and I love it.

I'd recommend Peter Kim @ Acura of Bellevue. Even if you don't go with Peter, I'd still recommend Acura of Bellevue. Acura of Seattle (er... Tukwilla) always struck me as borderline sleazy the few times I tried them.

I ordered my TL back in January from Acura of Bellevue which should hopefully be here in a couple of weeks. Of all the dealers around the Seattle area, the dealer in Bellevue seemed to be the most knowledgeable about the car and was willing to deal a little off MSRP. I've also heard from friends that own Acuras that Bellevue has one of the better service depts.

Agreed. I don't know of many dealers who give out TSX loaners to their customers when they come in for maintenance.

Skiboot what did you order? I wonder if our cars will come in on the same shipment.

tonyufTL,

I ordered a Black/Quartz 6MT Navi w/ the A-Spec package. I've been told the build date should be next week and the car should arrive the week of April 5th. I can't wait to get my new toy in after two months of waiting! I just hope the rain goes away soon so my new car will stay clean for more than a day.

I got mine from Acura of Seattle for 31750. Non-nav with protection package. It wasn't a great sales experience although not all that bad either.

The service "advisor" that I deal with is nice though. I got 04 TL's as loaners whenever I bring my car in.

Now the service people working on the cars there though, they're something else. I had them replace a section of the leather on the driver's seat. This required them to remove the entire seat, fix it, and put it back. When I picked up my car, I saw that the leather tear had been fixed. But to my horror, the door jamb just to the left of the power seat controls (around the long silver "Acura" plate) was full of deep scratches. I theorized that when they were trying to remove (or re-install) the driver's seat, it got in contact with the door jamb creating all these deep scratches.

Why they didn't take a piece of cardboard and cover this area to protect it is beyond me. I got them to spray paint that area but it pisses me off that they're this stupid.

I plan to bring my car to Acura of Bellevue next time around. To Acura of Seattle, for god's sake, please re-train your service guys.

LT-Aruca - sorry to hear that! Definitely give AoB a shot - their service department really takes care of the customers.
