Good Deal or not

A dealer in my area (northern NJ/NYC) has given me a final offer of $24500 on a 2004 TL(Navi) with about 30k miles. It seems a little much considering these things are 3 years old. I know they dont depreciate as much as other cars but even still. I'll probably end up taking it just wanted to get somebody elses input or if anybody knows of a better deal in the area.

That sounds like a pretty decent deal. Just make sure that it's been well taken care of. Good luck!

Almost forgot, try to find out if it's been hit or has a salvage title.

I would inspect the car to see if there are any minor flaws that would bother me after purchasing it. If not, I would go for it.

FYI: I got my TL in August 2005. Its a silver 2004 TL w/o Navi 24000 miles and I got it for 25999.

can '04 TLs even be bought for that much OTD? known to man history? lol...

i'm looking to buy one and the best I've found was '04 5AT w/o navi with 16,000 miles for $25,900. didn't go to dealership yet to negotiate lower price mainly because color is redondo red pearl and i'd much rather get black or anthracite.

another dealership has certified pre-owned '04 5AT A-Spec w/o navi and 42,000 miles for $27,995 which is way too expensive, but they said they'll beat the price of a similiar certified pre-owned TL within 300 miles of my zip (32207).

i'd appreciate some of you guys' opinions too

My 2004 ( 6 speed, w/o nav) had a red tag sticker price of $25,995 I was told there was no moving on that price.

They offered me $1200.00 on my trade (civic) in the end I paid $22,500 that price is with taxes, tags, reg, random fees, OTD!

can it be done? no doubt. it's you just have to know how to deal with sales people.

Unless a car is a super high item you should beable to get any car for AT LEAST sticker price OTD. If you cant then you should go to another dealership.

looking at what I paid, if we removed my trade I was able to get them to drop about 5K off the asking price. I'm sure that $1200.00 trade (civic) is now being sold for the standard price of $7K (common around here for the make, model and year.)

anywho good luck. learn to deal with sales people. Make them make deals with you, dont make a deal with them.

i purchased my 04 NBP w/o navi for 24K with 25K on the odo at the dealership that i work for. we got it in on trade, so i traded in my fully paid 99 mitsu eclipse and ended up paying 19K for the TL, they threw in an full extended warranty (6 years from purchase date or 90K miles. perks of working there.) i was absolutely thrilled, still am. the car is amazing. really blessed and thankful. this is my first post. but i've been browsing for about three weeks. glad to be a part of the family.

i would say if you can jump on it for about 25K, it'd be a great choice.

I'd say wait. The 04s had some problems since it was the first year for the 3G. Never buy the model year... The 07s are around the corner and the dealer is geting top dollar for that car at that price. If you were to trade the car you might be lucky to get 21 on a car that was worth 35K. But in the end its your money!

^ Yea...04's did have a lot of first year bugs that were mostly solved in the 05 and 06...I think you could get it cheaper than that...esp with the 07's coming out...maybe 23,750 at lowest is my guess

Yeah and the other point is why buy used when you can get new, not the TL but a new car. they usually have better financing deals on a new car. And well... the brakes are probably original on a car with 30K... Tires maybe not but I got 33K on mine. The battery which in past acura products have lasted maybe 42 months. The coolant, the tranny flush, etc.

I can understand at 22 wanting a nice ride... but be aware of the fact that 30K miles could mean much sooner maintenance on this car. You could be putting as much as 2,000 in to the car within the year depending on what has been done to the car.

That and insurance... But hell when I was 22 I was driving a car like this as well and was paying for it.. If you got the cake, I would get a later year.

Bah, I'd take a 30K mile TL with 70K miles left on the warranty for $23.5K OTD rather then buying a newer TL for around high 30s OTD.

If anything breaks on the car. guess what? I have a warranty to cover it.

buying used IMO is much better then new, just make sure you get a good warranty, if there's ever an issue, no problem. drop it off to Acura and have them fix it.
