Good deal? I think so

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum. I've loved the car since it came out and I was still in school. I've since graduated and received a pretty good job as a recent graduate and have decided to get an 05TL.

This is far from done, (since financing has to be setup), but I bought a NBP/Ebony/5AT/Nav for a price of 32,000. It has 4,500 miles and never registered since the GM drove it. It is immaculate and I wasn't crazy about the black having not seen it, but when I saw it, I had to have it. If all goes well, I will have it Saturday or sooner. They claim to be able to get magic done regarding financing and I hope so since I don't have a lot of history and screwed up my credit with a few late payments when I started school. But anyways, I thought it was good and I will let you all know what happens. Hope to see you soon.

i would not get that car, for about 1500 dollars more you can find a deal for a brand new 2005 model. any car with 4500 miles will probably be in immaculate condition. don't let the getting a new car buzz make you decide on something fast. unless 32K was the price of the car out the door with taxes and everything.

I paid $873.00 INCLUDING destination for a 2005 with navi, 3 miles on it. I would deffinately not buy that car unless several thousand is taken off that price.

I would only get that one if they gave you the certified preowned warranties with it. Otherwise, you should be its first driver for that price. I paid about that much for a CPO one with about 8k miles on it. I wanted the CPO for the nice warranty as I put about 20k miles per year on my car.

Bluenoise is correct - you should deffinately have them add the extended warranty to it - but I still would not buy it for anywhere near that price.

I appreciate the feedback guys. They were actually asking 33 for this car if you can believe it. But had I tried to get it under 32, they would have offered me the one 04 they had on the lot which was listed at 30,900. Now I could have gotten the 04 for 30 but thats obviously not a good deal with 18,000 miles on it eand the interior was in shitty shape with baby chair marks on the rear bench. I also found a few 04's with nav listed at 31,900 and the best they could do was 30,500. Both had around 15k miles.

I don't understand the prices myself. It is good for everyone that owns one that they seem to hold value but there just isn't much difference in price and room to play. The way I kind of figured it was that I was basically getting a new one for 32. I have confidence that 4,500 miles will not make a difference in a reliable car. And it seems for the most part that the TL is pretty reliable as are most Japanese cars. If that 4500 really makes a difference in the reliablity then you are claiming its not reliable to begin with and it makes me nervous about buying one. As far as getting it for 30, it would not happen and I was not taking a beat-up one with 18,000 miles just because I get the certified warranty. The decision was between the black on black 05 for 32 or a new one for 33.5 or maybe 33.

I would cough up the additional 1-2k and get a brand new 05.
