Good buy?

http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...57379303&Log=0

I have always been a fan of Acura's, I was originally looking for an MDX, but the
TL grew on me when I came across one at a dealership.
I found a TL that I like a lot and I wanted to show other Acura fans this particular car to see if this is a good purchase for its price, mileage, condition etc.
Please let me know what you guys think!

It looks good to me , The only negative in which I can notice is the mileage . With a car with that high mileage Extended warranty is a definte must . I would try to get it a little lower for it to be a real good bargain.

Miles seem a little high. Needs to be checked by a trusted mechanic. Timing belt replaced?

Thanks for the replies.
I do need to check the timer belt, what should I be looking for in particular with the timing belt? Do I want the stock belt or a replaced one? A warranty is unavailable.

Be aware if you plan to negotiate on the price.

Any maintenance & repair paperwork with the car? Look for a timing belt change-- should be a $800-$2,000 job, depending on who did it and how much was done. Parts are @ $200-$350 for the timing belt change (which should include timing belt, serpentine/accessory belt, water pump, tensioners, pulley, etc.).

If not, contact an Acura dealer about doing a pre-purchase inspection-- if the timing belt was changed at a dealership, that might be noted on the computer system (might be on a AutocheckCarfax report, too).
Have the car inspected before purchasing-- it's worth the price just to know if the Bluetooth ("HFL") or Navi DVD drive are going bad.

If no info on the timing belt, assume it wasn't done-- it's difficult to tell if a timing belt was changed-- and budget $1,400 for the timing belt change and changes of transmission and brake fluid.

G/L, and welcome to AZ.

problem with those are the timing belt. that could be slightly big work and money. Tranny issues as well. I mean you're gambling on a model that came out in 04'

I wouldn't pay no more than 7G's (if that) for it to be honest.

You'll definitely have better luck in the TL section since those folks can give you more specific answers based on experience.

Good luck

Definitely like the guys above said, for that price and miles make sure it has had the timing belt and water pump replaced or I would pass unless they take like 1k off the price for that to be done but I doubt they would do that much since they will just get some other sucker in there to pay that

+1 on the timing belt, it was due at 105K. Check NADA.com and KBB.com for the dealer retail price, that will tell you if the price is inline with what you should be paying. The car looks like it is in good shape and I also agree with an independent inspection, well worth the $150 or so it would cost.
