GMSFM, is this it?

I called Criswell Chevrolet in Gaithersburg, Maryland, about GMSFM for my 04 TL 6mt (thanks for all the help ROADRAGE) and the parts guy said "we got a ton of it." I was tired of waiting for an email from gmpartsdirect.com and I needed the stuff pronto. The bottle says Synchromesh Transmission Fluid not Friction Modifyer. I think this is the right stuff...I think I saw a picture of a bottle of it on this site or a link somewhere and it looks the same. The part number is 12345349 FLUID-TRA 8.800 and it was $9.54 a quart. Is this it?

I think there are two tranny fluids.

GM Synchromesh and GM Synchromesh Friction Modified. THE GMSFM is more useful to us. Someone please confirm or correct my understanding.

Part 10-4005
88900332 General use GN Syncromesh

Part 10-4014
88900399 Syncromesh FM (for NV1500 trannies)
Semi-synthetic

These are the AC Delco parts - any GM dealer should be able to cross reference. Point is, the name is unique. GMS FM.

I bought from GM Parts online.

Thanks for the AC Delco and GM parts numbers. This isn't what I bought. No local dealership has GMSFM. I went to gmpartsdirect.com and the site doesn't recognize either number. I'm about to call Redline...or open a window and throw my self out.

Honestly, this is not rocket science - I found it on gmpartsonline by a text search.

I find that totally amazing the GM dealership didn't have any. I would find another store and ask them. It is a VERY popular fluid.

I explained it in my posts on GMSFM in The RR Journals. NV = New Venture, a mfr of truck trannies.
