Glove Box Light

Can this light be accessed without removing the glove box? Mine is burnt out. I have a replacement LED. The service manual page only shows the housing, not how to get there.
I'm also assuming the assembly is on the right side? Can't tell by the scan.

The assembly is on the right side. I replaced mine but I don't remember how to get to it at the moment.

pretty sure you have to remove the glove box to get at it. while your in there, replace the cabin air filter. then it wont seem like your doing all that work for a light.

No. But it is easier if you DROP the glove box, not remove it. Let it hang from it's hinges. Then:

Thanks all, you guys are amazing. It's really quite simple.
There must be something wrong with my wiring. I replaced the bulb with 2 different new bulbs & no light. I even tried the old one in another socket & it worked. Is there a fuse for this circuit? I doubt it's a fuse as nothing else is not functioning. I remember the light working when I bought my TL about a year ago, as I referenced the manual often. I'm sure it has been out for a long time.

Headlights or parking lights need to be on for the glove box light to come on.

Do you mean the light in the lower/larger armrest compartment?

If so, see post #30 in: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/g-058-removing-center-console-bulb-license-plate-bulbs-566648/.

That is one of the DIY threads in the 3G TL Service Dept/Garage thread, https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/3g-tl-garage-faq-3g-tl-newbies-553554/, stickied on the home page of this section.

I have it at this point, but how do you get the white cover off of it?
