Getting Flak

Anyone get opposition from the home front for cleaning and polishing so much? I can’t get any peace around here from the lady. I wake spend most of the day taking care of the yard finally finish all that jazz and start on the TL. My god, I work all week and take a few hours to myself and bam off to the freaking races. Do the opposites just look for thing to bitch about?

Another Sunday from hell  women

Tell her if she doesn't want you doing it she can just do it for you :p

On second thought that would probably be a bad idea...

Just say: "Don't force me to choose between you and the TL! You might not like the outcome."

On second thought: forgetaboudit!

I just spent 6 hours washing and zaino'ing the TL and MDX . The wife lets me have the time as it's my time to relax, I acutally enjoy detailing cars. She will complain about the "lost" time but she enjoys the cars looking clean even though she won't admit it.

My wife leaves me alone ...... she knows better than to bother me when it comes time to clean my car. That so called....."piece of property" is not worth me giving up my time to clean my cars. My suggestion is if she says something to you........go to her pocketbook and take all of credit cards.....then tell her to leave!!

I would be so happy if my husband washed his car and maybe mine. He does neither.

I never wash my cars! I would occasionally take them to a brushless carwash, when they are really covered with grime. I consider washing my car myself to be the ultimate waste of time. I would rather spend this time with my kids...

I catch hell for being on this forum too much - each night I come home from work and say - "you now, there is this problem with the car - or I didn't realize this..or hey, I have the same problme as another TL owner on the forum..." Oh boy! I was almost banned from using the internet! As far as washing goes as long as I wash her '02 TL too, then she's cool. My 2 year old even wants to help... now THAT is a bad idea - one in which I did not even make an option! Can you say - no touch, no touch

will never understand a mans obsession with his car. There are a *few* exceptions but for the most part they cant understand why men take time to wash the car, research/buy accessories for the car, chat about the car online etc...My wife was thrilled that I actually bought the car because it ended my obsessive shopping/research(in her eyes)---but now that I have it..Its the obsession of owning it! :toothless

Berlinrl I can go one better than vtechbrain. I keep my '04 TL, 4Runner, wife's car and my two motorcycles clean.........AND do at least half the house work....vacuum, bathrooms, floors, yardword, etc.

If things don't work out on your date with vtech..........give me a call.

Try this " I was going to go to the strip club with the guys honey but I thought I should clean the TL instead".

Am I the only one whose wife actually helps?

Water spots, no problem since she helps me dry. Helped me put sealant (multiple coats.) Helps when cleaning/conditiong leather. Hell, she even helped with the polishing (and those who do it know that can be grueling if you have to do it multiple times by hand... I don't own a PC.)

That's a good idea. I heard a story on the radio about this guy who was washing his car. He had a small child that decided he wanted to help his daddy, so he started washing the other side of the car for him.

Unfortunately, the kid didn't have a rag in his hand. He had picked up an aluminum can and decided to use that instead. He scratched up the whole side of the car and it had to be repainted.

So much for helping daddy...

My secret is to wash and Zaino my wife's car first. I also condition her leather seats. She just loves it. After that I can do just about anything I want to my car. It's my plan and I'm sticking to it! Of course it takes all damn day this way.

i'm not married but my mom and my neighbor are the one's saying something. but it's more of a joke than of anger. my mom would do the usual "washing it again? your car will catch pneumonia" then my neighbor will go and say "dude your gonna wash the paint off". but i pay them no attention. i was my car every weekend coz i know what i had to do to get that car and i have to keep her clean.

anyways who else here talks to their car while washing. i got no shame, i do
