Getting car back from bodyshop
As you all know, shit happens to people who loves their car.
https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-photograph-gallery-96/small-dent-fffffffffffffffff-851112/.
Now as to what happened to my car, I feel I owe you guys an explanation.
But first, body shop replaced the quarter panel. What are thing I should watch out for when I get this back next week? Rattle? Leaks? Input from those who has had body work done. Thanks!!

Biggest concern would be paint match on any body work.
Also, I was serious about cutting the old rear quarter panel's fender area for me so I can fix my rust.

paint matching, blending(with trunk, door panel, bumper, roof maybe), fitment (with the trunk, rear bumper, doors, drip molding, rear side skirt)...the paint job itself...check for dimples, excessive orange peel, dust that wasn't polished/sanded out, check the rear passenger door jam, tail light fitment...
what can i say i'm anal...these would be things i'd look over first. then gloss over the rest of the car to make sure nothing else was harmed while away from home (this includes rims).

It would make my job so much easier than grinding all the rust down, and patching this up with bondo, wouldn't it?
What do you think?
Ask them anyway, but I'll ask my bodyshop too, and see which way is easier:
Just weld new piece in, or grind down rust, fill the rust holes, etc.

Definitely paint matching and blending. They should probably blend well into the rear door, trunk and bumper. When I had my rear door fixed they blended almost all the way back to the bumper and all the way up the front door. Clear coat as well. Even if they match the paint perfectly, you're going to have new clear coat on that area and 4-5 year old CC on the rest of the car. The sheen will be different. They should blend/apply new CC to surrounding panels to match the sheen. When you get the car back take note to see if the rear panel is all shiny and new and the surrounding panels are more dull. Obviously there will be a bit of that as you can't expect them to CC the entire car. But it should blend well and not be blantently obvious.

Also make sure they removed the rear bumper when the painting was done. If not and they painted it withthe bumper on the color/clear won't wrap around the seam between the bumper and the panel and will peel back in time.

I don't think you guys can handle the truth. Let's do a little detective work. Picture 1

No debris, just a large dent in the fence... what could have flown into this that would caused this... could it be the same thing that hit the car? or the car... hit?!

I wanna say you cut someone off, they slid into the fence, they got out of the car, and proceeded to scream at you as you were trying to get away but still he/she has enough time to kick the shit out of your quarter panel?

My guess is that you were sitting at that stop sign and some kind of animal ran out of those woods. bumped into your car. got confused and then ran into the fence before running off

The dent in the fence matches the dent on his car.

The question everyone is missing is how we're the pizzas?
Did the toppings stay on?
Did you have to eat the cost since you were obviously late?
Am I getting warmer?
Like a heat wave bag type warmer?
Looks like curiosity just might kill some in here

Mmm
I like this game!! The fence appears to have paint on it, so I am going to say he didnt hit the fence.. His car is darker than that paint on the fence.. It looks silverish.. How the two fit together I wish I knew.. I will go ahead and say a car hit the fence but it wasn't yours... Maybe they thought u cut them off and approached u at the stop sign and kicked the shit out of your car. It looks like someone kicked it just like the Spartan kick in ur other post..

No significant scraping, so whatever it was is relatively smooth, didn't have sharp edges, and semi-rigid if not pliable...don't see any hair that would indicate a dog or a deer. You suggest whatever it was, hit your car first, then damaged the fence so it had some weight to it, so if it was an animal, it was larger. Profile says you're in Cali, so deer, mountain lion, coyote or large dog...but no fur, no blood, no carcass, at least in the pics. If it was a person, you wouldn't be posting...I'd hope. So something that wouldn't damage the paint, but enough heft to put a deep dent in the car and bend the fence...no marks on the sidewalk that lead to the fence impact, so that goes along with the "flying" into the fence statement. Dent in car kind of suggests a rounded corner of a heavy-ish object as it looks like a focused impact on the car, and a distributed impact on the fence. Having a tough time imagining an animal running into the car or you hitting it with the side of the car and doing that much damage. The stop sign/intersection and size of the road suggests you weren't going super-fast, maybe 35mph tops? Maybe the trashcans in the background are a clue...trash pickup day? My guess is a trashcan or plastic bin. Maybe already bouncing or tipping over or somehow in motion when you hit it or it hit your car, which then sent it flying into the fence.
How many interwebs do I win?
If that's not it, I give up and will wait for the story. If it's any consolation, the tails and the Nurburgrings look nice, p-man.
