It looks like they are supposed to have even the little dimples lighted, but i could be seeing things.

I don't think the dimples light up. The pic of the illuminated section is just the word ACURA which has a different color when not illuminated. If they had to laser cut the dimples out it would be a huge job and the EL panels would be expensive.

I'm wondering if you look directly at the EL panel or if there is plastic filling in where the letters are. If not dirt will sit in there and eventually scratch the EL panels up.

Question

.
He's taking $40 off if you remove your existing ones and send them to him for conversion. I wonder how long that takes. Also, what does he offer if you order his replacements, and then send back your old ones...is there a 'core' charge / rebate?

"Hi - Couple more questions. If I were to order these from you get them - then send you the existing ones, do you still offer a discount?
Is it ONLY the acura part that lights up? Not the other squares? If not the squares - can you modify it so they light up?
What about water/snow/ice - will it affect the lights?
Do you offer any warranty?

Thanks for the help "

"Yes, I will still offer the discount as long as the sills you would be sending back are in new condition (I would not be able to sell these if they were scratched up)
Full payment including shipping would have to be sent and then the $40+shipping would be refunded upon arrival of your sills.
Yes, the acura is the only part that lights up, we can light up the squares but that is very time intensive and we would have to charge a considerable amount more.
The lights will not be affected by water, snow, ice etc.. they are completely sealed so no moisture will get into them.
There is a one year warranty on the light
To power the lights up you would have to install an add a circuit to the fuse box for power and then tap into the door switches for ground (the wire you would tap into is the green wire located in the post and is easily accessible behind the interior trim panels) so when one door opens only that sill will light up.
If you like you can install a switch and you would not have to tap into the ground wires for each door.
Directions are not available online at this point in time.

The sills are available now and we will be shipping at the end of the week.

Andy"

if Supercomputers don't hurry up, the market is going to be dominated by some other vendors.
