General WARNING to 3G USERS

The Staff at AZ has been doing some 'spring cleaning' and working on keeping threads strictly "safe for work." Some of you venture outside 3GTL and visit other places on AZ like the Ramblings section. Threads in the Ramblings section have been deleted and people have been temporarily banned for posting "NSFW" pics on AZ.

If you are not aware of the NSFW policy read the 3G rules.

I have edited some of the recent threads that have been posted here in 3G in the photo gallery. This is not a website about women. It's about cars, period. Obviously, we have the Off Topic section to discuss other topics but ultimately the site is still about cars. Let's keep it that way.

If you post a "NSFW" picture in 3G, you will be temp-banned. If you come back under another name while being temp-banned, you will be perma-banned.

I will leave this thread open for a little while for discussion.

Probably won't tell me but how would you know if the same member comes in under a different log in name? IP address?

No one knows everything, there is always someone out there who knows more.

IP Spoof.

But rules are rules... and there is no point for NWSF material on a car enthusiast forum.

I figured part of this would be tied to the HIN thread. Due to the host fail on the OP's part, I couldn't see the pics at work . Figured there'd be girl pics...now they're gone .

is there any way to prevent repeated questions? i haven't been here as long as others but i still know where the 3G garage is(which i think that link alone should be placed on top of the page) and i know how to search. I know im not the only one tired of seeing the same questions over and over again by people with 1 post. We all know search has really downgraded compared to what it was before, is there any fix in this yet? sorry if posting in the wrong topic but as a mod, i think you would want to hear this.

We are well aware of the search issue and admin is working closely w/ IB to resolve the issue. We've all been noobs here on AZ at one time or another. A polite nudge to search or look in the 3G Garage is always in order. It's an online forum so we're bound to see things repeat whether we like it or not.

Let's stay on topic please.

Yes it partly stems from threads originated by Trew and tl2slow. The bigger picture stems from the fact that we have rules and we all must follow them including moderators (two of which have been recently banned temporarily).

Thanks for keeping things safe for us. 90% of the time I spend on this site is at work.

I agree since most of the time when I'm on is when I'm at work and it annoys me when a picture other than a car shows up while someone is looking over my shoulder.

I only asked cause I could swear that on certain threads, there are couple of log in names but the same person supporting each other during an argument.

Let me be the one to say this is the last time we will be so generous to start a thread to have to remind you once again what our rules are. Rules that have been stickied for a long time now.

Just so you know, a mass banning has taken place. Roughly 70 or so members.

This is the last time we will be posting this. No warnings from this point forward.

If you think the picture you are about to post might cross the line then I would highly recommend you not even take the risk.

That's very true. Seems kind of "duh" to me, but I guess everyone's different.

Wow. I knew there had been a few breaks of the rules recently, a little moreso than typical, but didn't realize it was that pervasive.

This you will not be able to use as an excuse anymore.

You will get an automated message stating you have been banned. We'll leave it up to you to figure out why.

one of the reasons i like this site is that its generally SFW.

i wouldnt want to be the one opening a thread at work with a NFS pic and end up getting canned.

lol.. I stick so much to 3G forum folder and problems and fixes that I don't see to much of this. Yeah.. ramblings is a bit chaotic. I remember a post a few months ago where a girl was being way too suggestive with a stick shift.. now while there was no nudity.. it was definitely NSFW.. lol. I remember opening it at my desk and getting completely embarrassed / humiliated / pissed at the same time.. It caught a few people as well from the comments that were left.

or

Pose how they want and then Pose SFW... so at least I can share here on Acurazine...

That means they won't hesitate to bring the hammer down on us if we cross the line. As long as I can still get to the Garage section, I'm good.

Oh...ok...that would make sense, I remember seeing some thread about Jessica Biel and wondering about why it got closed. This makes sense...and is appreciated since I too peruse at work and would hate for a pic, or even words to be caught by my nosy boss and get me in trouble.

Keep up the great work Mods!

Part of being a car enthusiast is going to car shows. Part of car shows is girls. While I understand the admins are trying to keep a mature, respectable forum, its completely expected that these pictures will exist. People really shouldn't be surfing the web and reading forums at work anyways, (i do tho) or at least just avoid the ramblings section. just my

How could we be able to say "insert explicit here" and not be able to post pictures of semi-nude women and girls from car shows? If you are enforcing stricter rules you might as well censor out explicit languages too.

Leave out the girls?

When I'm browsing the 3G photograph section, be it at work or at home, I don't want to see ass in thongs. Period.
