connectors would be different but with a little re-wiring you could get it done. seems pointless to me tho, could just do some custom stuff with yours and it would look better than type s.

If you want to do something different just open yours up and customize the LED backlighting like a few of us have done. I did a DIY on taking apart the cluster, all you need to do is know how to solder.

It would? how? I dont think there is anything you can do to those old school 04-06 gauges to make them look better than the 07-08 gauges.

Yes it can be done and no wirring need to be done whatsoever!!! i got an used one that was beaten up. i installed it in my car and everything work properly, the only problem was the number on the speedometer, the miles to be more specific. The dealer told me that they could reprogram the computer for 300 bucks to which I said no. I remebered they were going to sell me a brand new type s gauges for 400 plust the 300 for programing it.

I am probably one of the few that dont like 07-08 guages too much. Dont get me wrong, they are not bad. I really dont like the red of the type-s interior. I just love how the 04-06 completely black out. To each their own, right? The blue got real old to me, so i decided to modify it, now my 04 gauges are custom and i plan on cusomizing them some more just to make them one of a kind. That will be done once i get the LEDs in and extra time.

where is the diy of the work you did on your gauges to change the led? I will like to see it.

700$ for that swap is a considerable amount...

There are gauges on eBay that just slide on top of the factory ones. That's an easy abd cheap option. Not sure if anyone's done it before but I'm tempted. Blue or red it says abd no need to remove the needles.

I'd search eBay abd paste the link but I'm on my phone.

Here is the link to the DIY I did for the cluster teardown. Click Here When you get it torn down you can plug it back into the car and figure out which LEDs belong to the tick marks. There Should be a total of 8 Blue LED's that you can change to whatever color you want. They are PLCC-2 types and the place I got them from is mentioned on the DIY.
