Gas tank question
i have an o6 tl and i let it go till it had only 2 mile to empty, then when i went to the gas station ( i did this numerous times ) and pumped in premium gas the car has only filled up 14 gallons never ever has it filled passed 14 gallons, and as i believe i read in the owners manual it holds 17 gallons i was just wondering what is the deal with that. I'm kind of worried that the dealer is messsing around with me and sold me a car with a damaged tank.

Don't worry about it. You are okay. Its by design. You can read more details in the following threads from the 3G TL Garage.

TL Tank Capacity
Officially, 3rd gen TLs have a spec'd tank capacity of 17.1 gallons. I've pumped into my (almost empty, I guess) tank 19.06 gallons. For this, of course, I literally topped it off, that is I held the nozzle until the gasoline level was, well, visible.
This is good to know for procrastinators since you can drive to the last drop of fuel by watching the average fuel consumption since your last fill-up and dividing the trip mileage by it.
The actual tank capacity is somewhere just below 20 gallons. I figured this out by running out of gas, calling the (free) roadside assistance, having them pour in 2 gallons, then driving to the nearest gas station (<3 miles) and topping it off with just short of 18 gallons.
Hope that helps. As for the ever so early warning light and zero range, I think the philosphy behind it is that Honda/Acura don't want any of their cars seen on the shoulder with their 4-way flashers and thought of as "unreliable".
