i nominate either an airport strip or Englishtown Raceway Park...i kinda like the Englishtown idea since they got both a new handling course and a 1/4 strip...i wonder how much it costs to rent out something like Englishtown for the day...i'd b willing to pay handsomely for unlimited runs all day

Englishtown sounds like a great idea! We can all prove our cars once and for all.

the only problem with Englishtown:

who will pay for it.. I see only a select few paying to go to a meet...
how far in advance do you have to pre-book an event...

I think we need to organize a second annual meet during the summer somewhere.. Maybe the SHOIRE meet we had last year we can do again as an annual event!... grab the out of staters over again!

I am down for whenever. I was the one that set up the shore meet last year and we had a great turnout. I was thinking about turning it into an annual event too. But that will be around August or September. I am down for an end of June meet somewhere. Let me know.

i wanna meet where there's some sort of racing involved...which is y i suggested Englishtown or an airport runway...i think it would b awesome to chill if u want, or if u're talkin smack like Tony was in his put put jalopy , settle it on the 1/4 strip

basically, do something like Fast & the Stupid

or if u wanna make it more competitive, create brackets based on make, model, mods, etc.

fact is we all mod our cars so much, and there's no way to really show our mods in action at meets...well here's a chance to combine both in a relatively safe, controlled environment...that's basically what got me thinking on this idea

location, location, location

WHy not do several polls and find out the following: Average distance willing to travel, and where are most members willing to travel currently living. For example does the West have more members than the East, in the East is there more members in the South or North.

Now this might be a bit much, but in good weather conditions I would be willing to travel a good amount. So a national meet could be possibility. Say for example CHicago or such, somewhere in the middle. I would drive from Florida to the MIddle.

I hear exactly what you are saying.. but mind you there are alot of "young" people on this board that DO NOT know their limits and are bound to become the "STUPID" and not the fast, but the crashed!!! I wish that on no one but we have to worry about what idiot will loose control, etc... too much risk!!!! Then we have to have a MED crew on call at all times etc... too much hassle IMO!

Soopa and I talked briefly about having it at UMASS/Amherst's campus. It's pretty close for all New England/New York/New Jersey people and it's a beautiful area, as well. Just a thought...but I'd go just about anywhere in the Northeast.

I say meet at Englishtown or Atco. Call them up and say hey we can bring you about 3g's worth of business on a Sat if you reserve the track just for us. Great idea Scooter!!

A shore meet would be nice but the track would really be fun!

Those are all great ideas... but I think everyone is missing a couple of big points....

1) PAA will NOT EVER EVER... sponsor a meet that involves racing. There's just waaaay too much liability at stake for them. This will never happen.

2) I have a feeling PAA may also not be involved in any contests after the Zainoff this year. That puts them in the middle, some place they do not need to or want to be. Unless they have judges that are not from the dealership, I don't think contests will be a part of the meets in the future.

3) There is no benefit what-so-ever to have the meet that far away from PAA. They are paying for it and sponsoring it, so one of the reasons that they have it there is for exposure of their dealership. Them having it somewhere else and arranging catering, etc. outside of their area (where they probably have connections) makes no sense for them.

That's all I can think of now

YO.

I KNOW WHERE WE SHOULD HAVE A MEET.

Lime Rock Park Raceway in Connecticut.

It is damn near in the middle of the whole NE...

Maybe we could actually get the NY/NJ & Boston crowds together for once.

I will try to find details.

I know several Car Clubs including Audi Club, BMW clubs, Aston Martin Owners Group, Porsche Club... etc etc etc... host events here.

Its an awesome raceway.... very clear & loose shoulders on the track so a low likely hood of crashing. I've seen some very high spped loses of control here where nothing bad happens.

I'll find out if its feasible.

and YES, I agree with Junior.

The PAA meet will be left the PAA meet.

It is perfect in every way... lets not change it.

What we need is MORE meets.

Heres more info on LimeRock.

http://www.limerock.com/LRP-TrackInfo/directions.html

Pretty easily accessible from everywhere.

I'm going to call about getting a club event thing going.

I dunno if we can race if were not sanctioned by the SCCA. I may contact the administrator of the Mohawk-Hudson Region SCCA since he lives like 5 miles from me. Maybe he can get us some info.

I agree with both of you!!!

Junior... PAA will never go for anything of the sort, and why would it be PAA if NOT at PAA!!! I think people use PAA as a description of the type of meet not neccesarily the sponsor or host!

Soopa... that doesnt sound like a bad idea... We have PAA as a summer kick off... maybe the CT track could be a summer close out... the intakes would love a kool september day to open up a can of whoop ass!

I aggree that the PAA meet should stay at PAA. We definitly should have another shore meet, that was alota fun, and this meet at the raceway sounds like allot of fun also....the point is lets just have more were we can all get together and hang out, who realy cares where it is, the main point is to meet people and have a good time.

How expensive could it be??? Think about it. If we have 100 cars show up. The revenue from each car would equal or surpass whatever they have on a Sat.....assuming it isn't NHRA nationals etc.,

Don't think hes talking bout the track rental...

I dont think it could be EXTREMELY expensive to get a half a day or so at Lime Rock...

I think scooters talking about how much money hed lose if we were to go to Mohegan Sun afterwards

that's correct...called SOLO...all summer into Oct.

out here on Long Island, SOLO is at Nassau Coliseum, and u get a lot of American muscle (Vette's, Camaro's, and Stangs), but they're also rather diverse in the group with European and Japanese
